Two Bills Drive

Talk about more good news for Buffalo. First the Jets coaches have their squabbles (and Bill Belichick is out now) and now the Jets are talking about Henning (you know the former Bills’ offensive coordinator) as being the new Jets OC. Talk about happy days again for the Bills as the Jets sink again.

You know the saddest words: what might have been. For Bills fans, what might have been was a berth in Super Bowl XXXIV. After all, Buffalo came within 16 seconds and an ill-fated Home Run Throwback of beating the Tennessee Titans, who are representing the AFC in Sunday’s NFL championship game.

If the Titans win the Super Bowl, it’s only righteous that Tennessee owner Bud Adams accept the Lombardi trophy and mail it to Buffalo to take its lawful place among four Lamar Hunt trophies sitting at One Bills Drive.

The Bills are close to hiring former Kansas City Chiefs fullback James Saxon as running backs coach. He participated in the NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship Program with Buffalo during the 1999 training camp.
