‘Bengals LB Takeo Spikes has a slightly torn chest muscle and is out 2-4 weeks. Spikes got hurt while sacking Buffalo’s Drew Bledsoe in the first quarter of the Bengals’ 24-17 preseason victory Friday night. “I caught Bledsoe and I slipped off him and he was falling,” Spikes said. “I was trying to go for the extra effort and pick him up and trying to dump him, and then I just felt like a catch in my chest.”

‘His best season was in 2000 when for the Bills he had a career-high five sacks and 74 tackles.’

‘Williams paid $10,000 for the new uniforms for the Wildcats. He also bought the basketball team new shorts. “They had new jerseys, so I just got them shorts,” Williams said. “I just wanted to give something back, because football there meant so much to me.”’

"This (first week of preseason games) gives us a chance to see some of the things we need to work on in a game situation as well get some more film to scout other teams," said Nate Clements. "This game here was a game to loosen our pads and get that football back in you."
