ESPN's John Clayton lists NFL coaches on the hot seat:

"5. Gregg Williams, Buffalo: Getting quarterback Drew Bledsoe raises the bar on the expectations for Williams, which is a little unfair. The franchise took the direction of weeding out high-paid aging players on the front seven of their defense last season, and the rebuilding process in that unit won't be complete until next year."

The Bills today announced that the team has released five players, including tight end Dan O'Leary and running back Curtis Alexander.

Meeting will be at 7 PM in the Paul Maguire suites.

‘"Drew takes more chances than Peyton, but I saw Peyton last year taking some chances," Price said. "He told me he had to because he felt the (Colts) defense was going to give stuff up." The Bills might be in the same boat this year.’

‘Ostroski hasn’t participated in live drills throughout the preseason because of a knee condition, and he doesn’t appear close to doing so.’

‘Left tackle Jonas Jennings made a surprise return to practice Monday and participated in most team and individual drills. He’s hopeful he can play in the Bills’ preseason finale Thursday at Detroit.’

‘The 26-year-old native of Daytona Beach, Fla., is trying to make an NFL roster for the fourth time, and if he doesn’t survive the Bills’ final cut Sunday, he knows it might be time to move on with his life.’

‘The Bills have installed a 45-yard tract of the new AstroPlay surface on their practice field behind the fieldhouse on One Bills Drive, and they tested it for the first time Monday.’

‘"Everything’s limited right now, you’ve got to crawl before you walk, but everything I am doing, I’m doing well," Jennings said. "It’s enough to get it done to build up to the opener."’

Jonas Jennings returned to practice on Monday. Gregg Williams: "It was nice to see Jonas (practicing) today. He was bouncing around pretty good. We'll take him day-by-day, similar to what we did with Ruben, and see how he is at the end of the week."

The Bills have only a dozen players on their roster whose resumes include more than five years of NFL experience. There are roughly three times that many with two seasons or less in the league.

I was thrilled to watch Jim and the team march through the playoffs and on to the national sports spotlight of four Super Bowls! But to me, his commitment to giving back to the community that supported him for so many years is definitely his most "Super" effort!
