Two Bills Drive

‘It looks like Buffalo Bills fans will have to wait even longer to see their team win a Super Bowl. Even in Fantasyland. Rob Lieberman, the director of the TNT movie "Second String," was recently told that the airing of the film about a team of Bills’ second-teamers winning the big game probably is going to be delayed again.’

‘Four young backs will be trying to prove their wares on the field, and the battle figures to be one of the more compelling ones in any training camp this summer.’

‘It wasn’t until 1995, a year after being released by the Bills, that he finally came to grips with his problem. He was out of football, alone, a drunk. So he went into therapy for his alcohol addiction and began to pull his life back together.’

‘Bills president and general manager Tom Donahoe indicated to reporters at league meetings in Chicago he would give Modrak the time he needs waiting to hear from the Bears.’

‘"t will be nice for the fans to look into the future and see what teams will be coming to Buffalo. Plus, the schedule will be much more balanced … only two games (per season) will be based on where you finish."’

‘The Buffalo Bills today announced the hiring of John Guy as Director of Pro Personnel. Guy had served most recently as a scout with the Cleveland Browns since 1998. Before that, he spent 26 years as an assistant coach in the NFL and in the NCAA’s Division I ranks.’

"Tom Donahoe is having a perfect off-season thus far for the Buffalo Bills. New GM Donahoe obviously understands the first rule of running an NFL club — know who you are, know who your team is."

‘The Buffalo Bills had only one request when the NFL owners met Tuesday to vote on the league’s first realignment since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970: Keep the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East. The Bills got their wish.’

‘The Hamburg Town Board has prohibited parking on Manor Lane, Kathaleen and Manor drives on days events are scheduled at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Town Board members said residents on the streets have complained about the number of cars lining the streets during events at the stadium.’

‘Last season, Buffalo, coming off an 11-5 playoff year, had the NFL’s toughest schedule based on its opponents’ winning percentage (.586). This season, coming off an 8-8 record, the Bills will play the 27th most difficult (.469).’
