“Our effort was disappointing, and it hasn’t been up to this point. You think playing a team with the record the 49ers have, and a national television game, that you’d be able to get a better effort, and we didn’t. We’re very disappointed in that, and we have to take the steps to correct that, and we’ll try to do that this week.”

Press Conference with Bills
Transcripted from press conference:
Van Pelt says Carolina will not come here and die and they will be playing to win and but the Bills will not quit they can still go 6-10; there are no quitters on the Bills and they will be playing to win even if they do not win until they go into Miami the last week. Hard practicing team who just needs to translate it to wins.
Other notes:
First part of halftime for Marv Levy – it will be quick (2-4 minutes).
Same layout as Jim’s weekend.
Roster Move – filled PS with RB Curtis Alexander (from preseason).
David Dinkins to be our PS QB.
Pro Football Hall of Fame's will visit the Buffalo Bills
Pro Football Hall of Fame’s traveling exhibit will visit the Buffalo Bills Fieldhouse and be on display at the Bills Experience prior to Sunday’s game.
Harmon Forcast - Buffalo 20, Carolina 7
The Panthers have no bright spots on offense or defense, but the Bills pass the ball well and defend against the pass even better. Buffalo’s two for two in the series, with wins in 1995 and ’98.
Texans will host Bills next season
‘They will also host Chicago, Detroit, Oakland and San Diego, and visit Denver, Green Bay, Kansas City and Minnesota.’
Bills, Panthers look for much needed win
Buffalo finishes their home schedule in the next two weeks with a pair of games against Carolina and New England, and they will look to break an eight-game losing streak at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Buffalo, winless at home since last Nov. 12, has also never lost nine in a row at home, more than six home games in a single season in franchise history, and has won at least two games at home in every season since 1977.
This year’s squad certainly would like to keep those streaks intact, and avoid having to beat New England on Dec. 16th to avoid becoming the first Buffalo team in franchise history to go winless at home in a season.
Lions sign Dreisbach as No. 3 QB
‘The Lions signed former Michigan quarterback Scott Dreisbach as their No. 3 quarterback and put cornerback Robert Bailey on injured reserve with a neck injury Tuesday.’
Lions sign ex-Wolverines quarterback Dreisbach
‘Dreisbach had been on the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad since Nov. 14.’
Bailey latest Lions to go on injured reserve
‘The signing of Dreisbach could signal Detroit’s next move: placing former starting quarterback Charlie Batch on the injured reserve list.’
Bills give up on forgettable season
‘Not only was this a bad loss, it was a giant leap backward, an affirmation of just how bad the Bills are. In fact, you can make the argument that right now Buffalo might be the worst team in the NFL.’
Lions sign QB Scott Dreisbach, place CB Bailey on IR
Dreisbach joined the Oakland Raiders in 1999 as an UDFA from Michigan. He played in two preseason games before he was sidelined for the rest of the season with a broken leg. He was placed on IR in 2000 with a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder, and the Raiders released him in April. He was then signed to the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad in November
Levy's Best Comebacks
When he came to Western New York in 1986, one of the best qualities that Marv Levy’s Buffalo Bills teams exemplified was a never-say-die attitude. This resilience allowed the Bills to accomplish a feat that had never been done before in NFL history, to fight all the way to the Super Bowl in four consecutive seasons despite injuries, changes in personnel and other setbacks that might have derailed other teams.
