Bills come up empty at NFL's trade deadline

‘You could say there weren’t moves out there for Bills general manager Brandon Beane, or that some of the biggest sellers came from within the AFC East and wouldn’t deal with Buffalo. But rumored targets like WRs Jakobi Meyers and Rasheed Shaheed were moved at prices that could not be called premium. Even a small addition upfront was clearly attainable based on moves made around the league.’

The trade deadline passes without the Bills making a move

‘Josh Allen won’t have a new receiver nor are the Buffalo Bills bringing in relief for their depleted defensive tackle depth chart.’

Battered Bills defense harassed Mahomes in signature win, but can it hold up?

‘The Bills defense may have found a nastier attitude along the way, but the defining identity of this unit has a lot to do with its ability to handle one dose of adversity after another that can largely trace to injuries. To say you don’t know what you’ll get from week to week is not a knock. It’s fact. Buffalo (6-3) has fielded at least seven different starting lineup combinations on its defense this season, leaving McDermott and coordinator Bobby Babich to churn for answers.’

Bills cut ties with Hard Knocks fan favorite

‘The bottom of practice squads often features movement like this, but it’s still a bummer for Ciarlo.’

Bills' Joe Brady reacts to 'outstanding' Josh Allen in Chiefs win

‘“Sometimes you can see in pregame, sometimes you can see just early in the game by the ball placement or he’s seeing how he’s feeling,” Brady said. “Sometimes it’s after a hit, you might need to get him hit a little bit. Hopefully it’s not a sack and it’s a run. But I felt in the box, I think you can tell a little early where he was and had a good feel and pulse of how the game was being played and how they were going to play him. I thought he was outstanding.”’

Today in Bills stadium history: Nov. 5

‘1978 — Patriots 14, Bills 10 — Tom Dempsey kicked a short field goal on Buffalo’s opening drive after Randy McClanahan recovered a muffed punt in the red zone, and Joe Ferguson threw a touchdown pass to Bob Chandler late in the fourth quarter after Tom Graham strip sacked Steve Grogan in New England territory, but in between the Patriots rushed for 279 yards and two Horace Ivory touchdowns, while the Bills offense barely advanced across midfield. The AFC East division champion Patriots (8-2 after this win) set an NFL record rushing for 3,165 yards in ’78, while the Bills gave up a record 3,228 yards. Attendance at Rich Stadium for this one was 44,897.’

Bills visit Churchville-Chili Middle School Tuesday for NFL Play 60 event

‘“To some of these kids, we’re superheroes,” Dion Dawkins, one of the players present, said. “He gets to tackle, I get to protect him, keep the kids smiling, on the right track, why not?”’

Upon Further Review: Maxwell Hairston goes stride for stride with Chiefs, injecting Bills' defense with speed

‘“He brings a lot of energy and if you just go back to his journey when he was hurt, a couple down days, maybe, rightfully so, but his character also shone through in terms of getting himself mentally where he needed to be, doing what he could, even though he couldn’t do a lot and then just staying positive,” Bills coach Sean McDermott said Sunday night of Hairston. “Positive energy goes a long way and I thought that the training staff did a great job of bringing him along the right way and getting him back, and then his work behind the scenes with our DB coaches and some of the veteran players as well that have helped him. That’s huge.”’

Cam Lewis steps in for Taron Johnson, plays every snap in win over the Chiefs

‘“Cam wears a lot of hats for us,” defensive coordinator Bobby Babich said. “We can plug and play him in a lot of different roles. The trust is high with Cam. He’s tough. He’s physical, and it’s really important to him.”’

Alan Pergament: Nantz, Romo deliver praise, ice cream and history in another Bills-Chiefs classic

Bills look to reclaim AFC East lead against struggling Dolphins

‘Tua Tagovailoa has proven time and again that he’s not capable of outgunning Allen, and that’s when he had Tyreek Hill in his arsenal. Hill is out for the season, and while Jaylen Waddle is an outstanding receiver who has No. 1-type ability, the Dolphins’ passing game is far less dangerous than past years and they are averaging just 5.7 yards per attempt.’

Bills vs. Dolphins injury update: Buffalo defense suffers another major blow

‘Defensive end Michael Hoecht also suffered a torn Achilles in the Bills’ 28-21 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. He’ll become the fourth Bills’ defensive lineman on injured reserve.’
