‘This has got the potential to be an ugly prime-time affair. The Bills’ offense has been borderline unwatchable the past two weeks. Things could get uglier without running back James Cook and wide receiver Khalil Shakir, both of whom are hurt. They have been, by far, Josh Allen’s most consistent offensive weapons. Figuring out how the Bills are going to move the ball on offense without them against a defense that has given them fits is hard to do. Defensively, the Bills should be able put a good game together, even without Ed Oliver (injured) and Von Miller (suspended) on the defensive line. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers looks washed, but the Bills have to worry about running back Breece Hall. I don’t trust the Buffalo run defense against an elite running back, and I don’t trust the offense at all right now. Jets, 20-17.’

Bills Mailbag: Which receiver should Brandon Beane target in a trade?
‘Cooper is making just $1.2 million in base salary this season, which would mean the Bills would be on the hook for the remaining portion whenever the trade was made. That makes him an affordable option, should Cleveland be willing to trade him. The Browns are dead in the water and Cooper is a pending unrestricted free agent, so it’s logical to think Cleveland would be willing to shop him.’

Five Takes: Will battered Bills fill the void? Can Brady’s offense ignite the fuse? Prediction and more
‘If Cook cannot play, that would leave Ty Johnson and Ray Davis as the two running backs in line to assume his workload. Johnson would likely be the lead back, as Davis finished last week’s game against the Texans without a carry. If Shakir is absent on Monday night, that would once again put the Buffalo passing game in a precarious position as it hopes to find its footing following a rough start to the year. Buffalo called up WR Tyrell Shavers from the practice squad this past week against Houston, and would likely do so again this week if Shakir is to miss his second straight game.’
Bills vs. Jets Week 6 preview: Top storylines, injury reports, broadcast details
‘The Bills offense has gotten out to slow starts this season, scoring three points in three of five games entering halftime and having to fight back in the second half. In the last two weeks, Buffalo is 25th in overall EPA/play (-0.1), 31st in overall success rate (32.5%), 24th in dropback EPA (-0.138), 32nd in dropback success rate (29.7%), 18th in rush EPA/play (-0.039) and 20th in rush success rate (37%).’
Four Downs: Bills-Jets comes down to which team can break out of offensive doldrums
‘Allen had the fewest completions (9) of any quarterback with 30 attempts in a game since 1992 last week. He has one touchdown pass in his last two games and is averaging a career-low 189 yards per game.’

Hamlin's '24 impact transcends shocking Monday night moment
‘”I won’t lie, Monday nights are a little bit more meaningful to me, but I’m so deep into my process that maybe when it’s all said and done and I’m back reflecting and I’m doing whatever I’m doing after I’m done playing, and watching ‘Monday Night Football’ [will] probably be a lot more special to me,” Hamlin said.’

Josh Allen stats vs. Jets: How New York has limited Bills QB and sacked him more times than any other team
‘Allen has taken 25 sacks from the Jets in his career, his most against any opponent. While that mark is easily inflated by the fact that the Bills and Jets play twice a year as division opponents, it’s still more than the Patriots and Dolphins have been able to register against Allen.’
Josh Allen-Aaron Rodgers relationship, explained: What Bills QB has said about 'childhood idol' now on Jets
‘”I’ve just been such a fan of his since I was a little kid,” Allen said at the time. “Having his jerseys and trying to emulate what he does on the football field. He’s such a special player. I think he’s the most gifted thrower of the football all time. Going up against him twice a year, it’s going to be a battle.”‘
Bills RB depth chart: Backups Ray Davis, Ty Johnson top starting options with James Cook out vs. Jets
‘Davis is a smaller, more bruising type of running back at just 5-8. That made him ideal for short-yardage situations, but his efficiency has lagged behind with only 2.9 yards per carry through five NFL games.’
Opinion: Simon: Bills-Jets Preview
‘The last two games, while averaging a measly 15 points, Allen has completed just 43% of his passes for a total of 280 yards and one touchdown. It’s a combination of factors that has taken a once high octane passing game and made it look feeble of late. Receivers aren’t getting open. Allen has missed on a number of throws including deep balls when his target had a step on the defender. The line has had some hiccups leading to Allen getting flushed from the pocket and throwing on the run.’
