Two Bills Drive

‘Buffalo was down 35-10 by the time McDermott took Allen out of the game in favor of Mitchell Trubisky, and knowing Allen’s value to the entire team, it’s tough to blame him. The Bills had no chance of making up that kind of deficit, and Allen doesn’t necessarily need any more reps to get ready for a big showdown with the Texans in Week 5.’

‘The Bills’ offense was starting to build serious momentum in the third quarter, but even OC Joe Brady might admit he got a bit too cute on the trick play that resulted in a costly turnover.’

‘The Bills were without their three best defensive players for the second straight week against Baltimore. Linebackers Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard were out again, and Milano won’t be back until at least December while he rehabs a bicep injury. Bernard is dealing with a pectoral injury that will keep him out for an undetermined amount of time. Nickel cornerback Taron Johnson was also out again after injuring his arm in Week 1 against the Cardinals. The Bills were able to get away with these injuries because they hadn’t played a physical, ground-and-pound team in their first three games. The Cardinals, Dolphins, and Jaguars are all finesse offenses that the Bills were able to out-physical up front – Baltimore was a different story, and that was evident from the first snap for Baltimore.’

‘Allen and Jackson have faced off with one another just four times in the regular season and one time in the playoffs. Jackson holds the regular-season advantage thus far, vanquishing Allen and the Bills in three of their four meetings. Allen and his side were the victors in postseason play, however, vanquishing Baltimore 17-3 in their one playoff matchup.’
