Pine Barrens Mafia Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Was watching some old episodes of Miami Vice on Hulu the other night, and my God, was the acting awful in that show. I mean, barely watchable. And yet, it was among the most iconic of 80s shows. Thank heavens the 80s ended. Now if we could just get douche-nozzle kids from popping their collars like it's the 80s, all of us old bastards could ride off into the sunset in peace...
WellDressed Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 That show was a fashion statement. The 80's were the real.
Jim in Anchorage Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 That show was a fashion statement. The 80's were the real. I liked them. It was so hip to be square.
Bullpen Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Edward James Olmos was a very attractive man and very verbose.
el Tigre Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 I used to love that show. I remember they had Roberto Duran guest star on one episode.

Today, many shows look like theatrical releases (The CSIs, Heroes, Lost, etc). Don Johnson looked better running around with Cheech because they could spend the money to do so. Note the contrast with the same music, Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms": Miami Vice (Go to the 42:30 mark)

Zona Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Don Johnson is doing what these days? Is he still doing Melanie griffith?

Doesn't take much to please an audience that has 3/4 of a gram of coke stuffed up each nostril.
Just Jack Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Miami Vice (Go to the 42:30 mark) I remember seeing that episode back when it was first on. That one scene with the music is the only thing I can remember from then entire Miami Vice series.
