nuklz2594 Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I am confused as to why not get something, anything for him? We have other players that can basically do wind sprints and drop the ball on game day.
RayFinkle Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Everyone, from the front office down to the guy who scrubs the toliets knows their days are numbered. They want to try and save as much face as possible this year before they get canned. None of them are overly concerned with the long term health of the franchise and would not trade a player who could potentially help the team now.
nuklz2594 Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 It's not like he has had a positive effect for us. Face it, we are rebuilding yet again.
GripnRip Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I wouldn't be surprised if, like Roscoe, there was literally ZERO interest from the rest of the league.
H2o Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I am confused as to why not get something, anything for him? We have other players that can basically do wind sprints and drop the ball on game day. It was a business decision. They will keep Owens as not to try and tick off the fanbase that bought tickets, jerseys, and boxes of cereal because Owens signed withe the team. He could still end up putting up decent #'s and giving the fans a few thrills. If he were traded that would've caused an uproar with some that they may have never seen a dime from again.

Ghost of Rob Johnson Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 because it's past the trade deadline? Do you think they try to resign him? With Reed a FA at seasons end and Roscoe on the chopping block is he worth resigning for next year?

bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 The only Way TO is still on this team next year is if he decides he doesnt want to retire yet, will accept a minimal vet contract, a new offensive regime is installed along with a QB that get the ball down the field etc. According to NFL sources in recent articles the Bills might have been shopping and no one wanted him or Roscoe or someone called and we were foolish to hold onto him since we arent utilizing him at all. Yes he drops the ball always has but this guy had 1000+ yards last year and so far has dismal numbers. But playing on this offense with this gutless head coach what else would ya expect scoring so few points per game

Steve O Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Good teams don't want to upset team chemistry. Other teams can just wait until the off season, sign him as a FA without giving up anything.
Sisyphean Bills Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Because nobody wants to take on a huge contract for a guy with near nil production. Fair or unfair, nobody wants to pony up first and find out later.
