Black-Eyed Dog Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Per John Clayton at ESPN: John in Geneva, N.Y., wants to know whether the Bills will take a quarterback if they draft in the top five. My read is they would fear the cost and take a player at a different position.
Black-Eyed Dog Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 More John Clayton: When the Bills lost RT Brad Butler for the season, what was the brain trust thinking in signing a practice squad player from Green Bay instead of getting a veteran? The Bills are already too inexperienced on the O-line. Matt in Syracuse, N.Y. A: What have they been thinking all year in regard to their offensive line? Their problems are all self-inflicted...

Except, as it turns out, that practice squad player is likely a better option than anyone currently on their roster. Says something about their depth.
Kultarr Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Except, as it turns out, that practice squad player is likely a better option than anyone currently on their roster. Says something about their depth. Well, he's better than a guy dumped by the 0-16 Lions.
Black-Eyed Dog Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 Well, he's better than a guy dumped by the 0-16 Lions. At least he might have some upside. Who knows? It's great to hear that they will go for a cheap player high up in the draft (assuming Clayton's sources are accurate). Maybe they can trade away high draft choices for high motor practice squadders with upside. Big savings there.
