Taro T Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 It's about 40 minutes to Niagara Falls from Orchard Park. Consider bringing your passport so you can cross into Canada. The USA side of the Falls bites. All the action is on the Canadian side...better view, better tourist stuff, better clubs and restaurants. And of course, the "Canadian Ballet". Ask your friend to take you to the Sundowner. Don't be surprised if you run into some Texans players there. PTR Didn't Moulds retire?
PromoTheRobot Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Didn't Moulds retire? Yes but I'm sure he told his teammates about the Sundowner before he did. I think they retired one of the couches in Eric's honor. PTR
houstontexan1 Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 LOL this is what me and my friend are going to do on the way to the game TEXAS STYLE!!! LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK-dwcur1eE
houstontexan1 Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 Live in NW Houston, a Bills fan for what seems like forever dang man I live in northwest houston too! the willowbrook area to be exact. LOL my biggest heartbreak is still that 1993 playoff game when buffalo came back down 35-3. Everytime I see that game on replay I always hope that never really happened and that the oilers hold on lol. I was only 7 at the time, but it still hurts
Tcali Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 whats up fellas? I plan on traveling to new york for the texans vs bills game next weekend. I am flying to syracuse because that is where one of my friends lives and he is going to drive us to buffalo for the game that sunday morning. I was just wondering if there are any hotspots near the stadium on gameday, or of anything near buffalo. keep in mind I only been to florida and illinois outside of texas so I dont know anything about buffalo. and my friend has only lived there for a little while. I am soooo excited I always wanted to experience a texans road game. and If I could pick any stadium to visit outside of greenbay it is the bills. why? I am not sure, but it looks like a great football experience. also if any of you plan on tailgating at the game It would be great if u would let me tag along if u dont mind having a texans fan at it lol, I would be more than happy to donate money. thank you for your time and hopefully I can hear back from some of you. also how bad will I get heckled? LOL!!!!! I plan on wearing my demeco ryans jersey with my texans jacket and a red astros fitted hat. I come in peace, I am just a 24 yr old college graduate looking to have a good time and enjoy the finer things in life! PS. I apologize if this topic doesn't belong on this section please move if needed. I hope to meet some of you next weekend possibly Texan..welcome...-However,be wary --wearing the Texan gear. There are some ugly nasty people that go to those games. You better have a very very thick skin. I'm serious. Surround yourself with some decent ,tough Bills fans who enjoy good natured kidding--yet who will protect you from some of the scum that goes to the Ralph.

jester43 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 dude...you are going to feel very ripped off watching the bills play football for 4 qtrs...it is not really nfl football. can't imagine coming all the way from texas for it. have fun...our tailgate's better than green bay's anyway. and i wouldn't worry too much about wearing another jersey if you just mind your own business and smile a lot. there have been games over the last 5 years where 1/4 of the stadium is opposing fans.
Just Jack Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Lot 1 Pole 5 is where some of the TBD regulars tailgate. There's also directions to The Pinto in that post. Hammers Lot is the preferred private lot for TBD.
Chandler#81 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Welcome to our community, HT! Many have already shared great spots you should check out while here. I reinforce seeing the Falls. We owe your town one. You gave us back our 1st round pick from '83 when the USFL folded. Thanks!! Enjoy your stay, but check the weather before coming into town. The Tomcat Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Carry a big sign that says "Bring it Bitches!!" That should make for an interesting tale.

There is insanely heavy traffic and tailgaters around a 2 mile radius of the stadium. It's neat.
thr_wedge Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Have fun. I tend to go to Townie places when I am back up in B-lo (in Austin now). I always need to get some pizza (Bocce), wings, and a chicken finger sub. Not to mention some Molsen or Labbat. And some good Italian food. We went and saw the Bills play at Houston in 2006. Ended up being a very exciting game. Carr tied the NFL record for consecutive completed passes (WTF), JP passed for 340 yards and JP hit P. Price back of the endzone to win the game. The Texans fans were very cool from Tailgating, during the game and even after their loss. Some ribbing and a little trash talk, no one expected the game to be as exciting as it was. Traffic is NOTHING like Houston. I think Austin traffic is good compared to Houston.
drinkTHEkoolaid Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Well i can respect you wanting to see your team on the road and get a different experience, so congrats on picking this game... just a word of caution this is only my .02 cents so take it for what its worth... If you plan to wear your texans gear dont act like a tool just be a happy easy going guy and joke around and have a beer, no one should give you a hard time if you do that and some people might want to chat about the texans and will probably treat you pretty well if you come off like a decent guy... but if you start getting cocky you might have a problem with about 5000 really drunk guys... not kidding... play it cool and you will have a great time. In all honesty we dont have a very big rivalry with texan fans so i cant see people giving you a hard time the second they see you... but if you were a pats/raiders/jets fans you would be instantly heckled without mercy "game day" at the ralph is more like college than the NFL. there aren't any hotspots per say right by the stadium its out in the burbs and its basically a giant parking lot which becomes the party. there are a few small bars at the corner but nothing what i would consider a hotspot. things to do- niagara falls is 30-40 mins from orchard park (where stadium is) if you go, honestly dont even waste your time on US side go right to canadian side. (for what its worth canada is about as close to the US as a foreign country can be, other than different road signs and a minor accent you wont know your in another country) the "clifton hill" area is a huge tourist trap but there is a lot to do some bars/clubs/casino/tourist things, but if you are looking for more "adult" entertainment check out lundys lane and either go to seductions or sundowner, and bring lots of american singles (they have more use than canadian loonies and toonies for a specific purpose of how you can place a folded dollar bill) you will thank me... if you dont have a passport for canada (you never used to have one, its a new requirement) you cant go wrong checking out "chippewa" in downtown buffalo. its mostly college and 20-30 yr old party area. a bunch of bars and clubs. oh and we like to drink here so bars serve till 4am! other things- The the best wings, check out Duffs or Buffalo Sports Garden both in orchard park and less than 5 mins for the stadium. They are fun local sports bars if you want to hang out and get a feel for things and get AWESOME wings. they are not "buffalo wings" they are chicken wings. (anchor bar is overrated) other "unique buffalo chains" check out ANY local pizza place for awesome pizza. teds or louies for hotdogs, mighty taco for hangover food, or get some beef on weck at Dannys (close to stadium) grab a case of labatt blue light and enjoy buffalo isnt a big metropolitan area, its very easy to get around without much traffic. only time you will have a problem is in "bills traffic" it gets backed up but if your form houston it probably wont bother you. dont be too hungover sunday morning and be waiting in line at the stadium for then the gate opens at 8. last bit of advice..... DRESS FOR THE WEATHER. have fun

CodeMonkey Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 last bit of advice..... DRESS FOR THE WEATHER. Being from Houston, that's probably the best advice of all. That and Mighty Taco! But of course Mexican food probably is not a big deal for you
Wacka Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Definitely Lot 1 pole 5. Ask anyone in Lot 1 where Pinto Ken's Tailgate is. Pinto Ken may be the most devoted fan in the NFL. He has been to every home and away regular season and playoff game since 1994 (now>250). His tailgate attracts over 100 people. Do a bowling ball shot and stay for the ketchup ceremony.

It will really depend on what my friend wants to do since he knows the area and he will be driving. he said something about a town called rochester. anybody familiar with that? and ya like I stated before, I am a very easy going guy who has alot of friends because of it. I know its your house and I will act like a good guest me and my friend will both be in texan gear :w00t:
