Frit0 Bandit0 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Don't think playing the Browns and the jets helped that do you? May be a little Behind the Saints @ 1 NFL
DonInBuffalo Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 They're dead last in run yardage allowed per game. That might have something to do with their pass D statistics.
Frit0 Bandit0 Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 They're dead last in run yardage allowed per game. That might have something to do with their pass D statistics. I knew someone would say that or... they don't have to pass because they can be run on at will anyway...The cover 2 will yield poorer rushing results
Taro T Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 They're dead last in run yardage allowed per game. That might have something to do with their pass D statistics. '76 (or was it '77?) revisited. "Best" pass defense in the league because they had the worst run defense in the league and worst overall defense in the league. When you give up 200+ yards on the ground every game, only a moron would call enough passes to let you get 5 picks (6 counting the botched field goal attempt) in a game.
jax bill backer Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 The bills run defense is amazing with are line. the only think that is holding us back is our group of linebackes.
Rock'em Sock'em Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 They're dead last in run yardage allowed per game. That might have something to do with their pass D statistics. Actually, the Bills pass defense is #1 in yards per attempt (5.5) and completion percentage (51.2), so you can't really argue that teams don't need to pass and that's the only reason they are 2nd in yards against. It's more like their scheme is good against the pass and bad against the run. Or perhaps their smallish players are good against the pass and bad against the run. Either way the pass defense has been impressive. The Bills are 3rd (1st in the AFC) with 10 INTs. Byrd leads the AFC with 3 picks. Being able to run and stop the run is a better formula. But at least the defense is doing something good.
eball Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Despite the horrid run defense stats, the D has kept Buffalo in 5 of 6 games while masquerading as a MASH unit. With an offense of any substance whatsoever, the Bills would be 4-2. Defense is not the problem, folks. QB play, an inexperienced OL learning on the job, and a spineless HC who refuses to show any aggression are the issues.

VJ91 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 anyway...The cover 2 will yield poorer rushing results.... Thank you professor, and P-Fool's cover 2 certainly proves your theory beyond expectations, doesn't it??
billsfreak Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 They're dead last in run yardage allowed per game. That might have something to do with their pass D statistics. I would think so, the QB doesn't even have throw if he doesn't want to against our defense, notwith us giving up rushing yards by the mile every week.
