John Gianelli Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I was reading the AP pregame reports in the local paper (South Jersey), and it said "A win by Bills would be 350th in franchise history, making them seventh NFL team to reach mark." That didn't sound right, so I googled it and it took me to http://mcubed.net/nfl/fwtot.shtml according to which we have only 301. But I question this as well. According to this the Bears have as many games played (319 wins 333 losses 4 ties) as Buffalo (301-351-4). No way the Bills have played as many games as the Bears, so this guy must just be compiling stats since 1960. Does anyone have a more definitive source?

I looked up the Bills record in the Media Guide. On page 212 they have the all time head coaching records and they add up to 348-384-8. Now add in the 1-4 & it is now 349-388-8. From the Summary of coaching records of other teams from the NFL Record and Fact Book 2009, plus this year's records, here are AFL teams with over 350 wins, there's 7 already. Add in the old NFL teams and you have a ton more, especially considering all those pre-1960 games the NFL teams played. Broncos 408 Chiefs 389 Dolphins 402 Patriots 401 Raiders 431 Chargers 374 Titans 377

Albany,n.y. Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I figured it out, the Bills would become the 7th ORIGINAL AFL team to get 350 wins. What that means is out of the 8 original AFL teams, only the Jets have a worse record than the Bills.
Delete This Account Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 according to the game notes provided to reporters by the Bills, the Bills rank 7th on the list of AFL teams with 349 wins. jw
Sisyphean Bills Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 7th out of 8. Well, it could be worse. Raiders 406 * Broncos 391 * Chiefs 381 * Patriots 380 * Chargers 364 Titans 363 Buffalo 349 Jets 334 *
