PromoTheRobot Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 What she said. But Im much more in the "heroic" camp. My only fear is that this will be one of those lynchpins/examples that will be used as "proof" that the team needs to be moved. Quite the contrary...I think it shows how much the fans care, that they'll pony up their own dough to make a statement like this. Of course ESPN and the national media can spin it any way they like. Ralph needs to be shamed into action. Otherwise he would just let Jauron coach out his contract. You want to wait two more years to start over? PTR
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 I can't believe that kid lives 2 miles away, lol.

You want to wait two more years to start over? PTR I think the ONE saving grace in this whole mess is the fact that although the team stinks to high hell and has for a while, it STILL sells so many tickets each week. This blows the whole "WNY cant support a team" line of reasoning right out of the water.

TheChimp Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 In billboard vernacular, that's like trying to read Lord of the Rings traveling at 80 mph. Mine would be "Hey Ralph, it's time to man up." You don't want to piss the guy off so much that he'll move the team for spite, but you also want to send a simple message that him and his team have been a big failure for a long time now. My billboard would be at a stoplight. And frankly, if this is the product Ralph is going to force down a host city's collective throat decade after miserable decade, I HOPE he moves the flipping team, YESTERDAY. Just leave the name "BILLS", and I'd be happy as a clam waiting for the next expansion.

Coach Klein Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I'm sick of people giving the kid crap for not giving it to charity. He's giving whatever is leftover to a charity anyways. Plus, if he were to give it to charity that would mean he lied to the donaters about what he would be doing with their money. Then some a-hole would most deff. start up a lawsuit and he would be in all sorts of trouble. This isn't that difficult of a concept. But then again what do I know?

Yeah, the money could have been "better spent" ... just like the $$$ for the next pack of cigs, the scratch-off lottery tickets, or the Hostess Ho-Hos out of the vending machine. Or tickets to the Cleveland-Buffalo game, for that matter. Or my flight to Charlotte, so I can watch this team (in all likelihood) drop to 1-6. Why does anyone care what other people are doing with their own money? Nobody's forcing them to send it to him.

The only argument I'll warrant for the opposing side is that you might feel it misrepresents the area, but people...you have a right to voice your opinion, and that kid spoke on behalf of all disgruntled fans, all you sappy fans are welcome to raise 1,200 dollars and put a sign behind it saying: We're sorry Ralph and dick. All of Buffalo doesn't hate you. You're probably not going to do that because you don't feel passionately enough about it, whereas that kid did. It's his right to put up the billboard, and its his and the people who have donated right on how to spend their money.

He does more than talk like most on here. Second, to those worried about Buffalo's reputation? BIG F'in deal. We've never HAD a good reputation outside WNY. Third, this just goes to show how passionate SOME Buffalo Bills fans. Fourth, those bitching about this money not going to a worthy cause? bull ****.
The Senator Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Apparently Colin Cowturd caught wind of this 'digital billboard thing' - likely from one of the many web sites that featured the story - and used it as another opportunity to further bash the City of Buffalo and its sports fans, saying on yesterday's show, "Wow, I didn't even know they had digital billboards in Buffalo...after all, they just got plumbing last week...wow...digital billboards...do they even know how to spell there?" Nice work, Cowturd. Freakin' idiot.

Are you suggesting that the people that want Ralph to clean house and fire Jauron, Modrak, and Guy are in the minority? IMO opinion, the message represents the area and the fanbase quite well. We're all upset with the state of the franchise and waiting for Ralph to clean house. So what's wong with saying that? Nothing in the message is demeaning or disrespectful. He simply states, it's time for a change of direction - clean house and lets start over. I would suggest that no one is going to raise the money for the "positive" billboard is because you can't find more than 2 or 3 people that want to see the Bills continue... with their continuity. I, for one, applaud this guy. He did something more than just complain.

Just Jack Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 He could use the extra $$$ for a Paver, that's a charity donation, and it would be a permanent reminder at the stadium.
Adam Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 A lot of worthwhile charities could've used that money. What an embarrassment, especially considering it's nothing more than a tactic to humiliate a nice guy who happens to be a lousy football coach. It won't have an effect on Ralph Wilson one way or another. Just because Jauron can't coach doesn't mean you drag him through the mud. Too bad nobody is intelligent to notice that the previous coaches have had similar results....an indicator that it isn't the coaches that are the problem.......
