Bufcomments Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 OK ......it is obvious that the Bills are not going to fire Jauron this week ,as a matter of fact I think we a stuck with him for the rest of the season sad as it may sound. But it is clear that Edwards is not going to be the franchise QB we are looking for. Granted the O-line sucks but there were times that he did have time to throw and continues to not give his WRs chances. So since we all know we are stuck with Juaron here's a few things Id like to see him do 1.Bench Trent If only for one game just to see what Fitzpatrick can do. It cant hurt anything now. Your 1-4. 2.Bench Roscoe For one game for the Saints fumble and for this weeks fumble to show some accountablity. 3. Get Steve Johnson on the active roster. To take Roscoe's place 4. huddle up..... for Gods sake Please????? 5. find a Veteran O-Lineman....... If he did those 5 things I for one would feel a bit better. As least for the time being. Ok fire away lol

If I was head coach Id check Trent down to the bench so fast.... its a damn shame we fans know what to do better than a guy that makes 3 million to make the decisions.

Ok fire away lol Trent should have been benched at the end of the 3rd quarter yesterday. The guy looks completely lost and absolutely unwilling to throw the ball. Think about it.. we have a QB that is literally afraid to throw the ball. I wouldn't have let Roscoe come back to the bench after the fumble. I would have called April over and told him to escort Roscoe to the locker room, get is gear and leave the facilities. That guy quit on this team in week one. I'd play as many of the rookie and second year players as possible from here on out, inlcuding on the Oline. This season is lost. It's a waste. No sense in even trying to salvage it. The only good that can possibly come out of it is for the young guys to get some experience and see what they can do. That way the next HC has a better idea of what he's got. I'd huddle up just for the sake of making the players look each other in the eye after every stupid play/penalty. Maybe someone would finally crack and punch someone else.
Buckeye Eric Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 In the case of yesterday's game, I do not see how the QB is responsible for 13 penalties, a muffed punt, and a 15 backwards return which gave back field position. Any momentum the QB position was gaining was taken away by the above.

Any momentum the QB position was gaining was taken away by the above. The QB was gaining no momentum, unless the momentum you are talking about is missing wide open WR's (or not seeing them.) You are correct, the rest of the crap didn't help either, but the QB play is also terrible. There is more than one problem on the Bills.
Guest three3 Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 edwards is not the first qb to team up with jauron to achieve a losing record. just look at jauron's career. his qbs were and are failures as he was and will always be

Ok fire away lol I agree with the majority of what you say. I dont think I would care to see a vet olineman only because this season is busted at this point. We should just play the young guys as much as possible to see what we have long term if anything. I cant believe Roscoe was not traded (maybe its because the rest of the teams in the NFL think he is a joke), weve been holding on to this scrub way too long. We are paying the guy over $2million/year to return punts and kicks. Last I checked that was a spot that most teams give to their young players that have talent and give them a chance to showcase it. Roscoe will never be anything more than a punt returner. He will be in the NFL for a few more years but his name will be lost just like Dante Hall. Yeah, he still plays but no ones heard from him for years. Steve Johnson played pretty well last year down the stretch of the season. He should absolutely be getting in ASAP to get more work and experience. The fact that he is not is a joke. I dont give a crap if we huddle up ever again. Makes no difference to me. In fact many times I noticed they were huddling up yesterday in a half a$$ed way. They just all congregate around where the RB i positioned. Usually TO opts not to be in the congregation. Yesterday it was Lee Evans. He prolly figured that he wouldnt catch a pass yesterday anyway because Trent sucks. I feel bad for Lee, at least TO only has to deal with it for a year. Lee has years of this crap. Im all for benching Trent because im officially done with him. The only problem with that is what if Fitzpatrick wins 50% of his games? Does that save Dicks job another year? What if Dick gets fired and Bobby April comes in and wins 50% of the games? Do we get stuck with Bobby April next year? I dont really know how I feel about all this. If we get Dick fired theres a chance who ever takes over might actually impress Ralph. Then we get a full 2010 season of 53 special teamers like Roscoe Parrish, Justin Jenkins, and John Corto's. Guys that are fine on special teams but cant fill in for an actual position anywhere else.
tonydiamond Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Johnson needs to be in the line up, he's proved that, I say we pull the trigger on Roscoe now. Let's send him to Cleveland, he practically played for them yesterday. Just kidding, but we could always use a few more picks in next year's draft for the new head coach. As far as Brooks or Runyan, I'm still skeptical, if I had to pick I'd say Brooks. Let the O-line stay intact for longer than ten minutes...

Ok fire away lol All good ideas. I would actually probably cut Roscoe at this point. It may be moot, because he SHOULD be the odd man out when Hardy is cleared to play anyway. In addition I would also do the following: 1. AVP is clearly in over his head. Bring in a well respected former OC (like Mike Martz) to perform in a consulting role. 2. Move Terence McGee back to kickoff returns. 3. Find some veteran LBs as well.

BuffaninATL Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 you can start your suggestions by spelling his name correctly..... justnzane Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 i must be in the minority here as I think Edwards ran for his life in each of the last 3 games because of the line's inability to block. That is why AVP and TE dialed up so many roll-out passes yesterday. On those plays the receivers need to come back to towards the QB and get open. Frankly TO has done little to help out his QB. Regardless of who is coaching and who is QB, our line sucks. Without a half decent line, your skill players can't do squat. Since our only good lineman is injured for the season, there is little chance of the bills doing anything with TE, RF, or the Chroisen one behind center. However, it is likely that TE will be injured and the other two will get their reps.
metzelaars_lives Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I'll take any of these. I cannot believe that they refuse to activate Steve Johnson; it's mind boggling. Unfortunately with McKelvin out we are thin in the return game so I don't see Parrish being a healthy scratch next week. Of course there's no possible way that they wouldn't dress Justin Jenkins, that would be ridiculous...
TheChimp Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I'd huddle up just for the sake of making the players look each other in the eye after every stupid play/penalty. Maybe someone would finally crack and punch someone else. Now THAT would be worth the price of a hot dog or two.

Ok fire away lol Good suggestions my #1 would be this: 1. Get rid of the no huddle. I realize DJ/AVP don't necessarily intend to use it as a hurry-up, just to keep the defense off balance. The problem is, we've got 5 rookies on the OL (including S. Nelson) and only 1 guy with any significant NFL experience (Hangartner). Most likely their biggest issue right now is knowing their correct blocking assignments on every play (especially pass plays). Do you think Hangartner can handle making sure all these guys are on the same page, especially since this is his first year in our system? At least with a huddle they could gather themselves and discuss assignments more easily. I think all the false starts on Sun. are indicative that these guys are still trying to figure out what they're supposed to be doing and then AVP tries some fancy snap counts just to give them something else to think about. Somehow AVP has to find a comfort zone with the o-line and go from there. Defense is in real trouble at least until Puz gets back, and who the hell knows if he'll be able to keep his forearm unbroken. Trent Edwards seems to me like he has zero faith in the o-line to protect him. Can't really blame him for that but there are plays he gets adequate protection but it doesn't change his checkdown approach. If we're getting killed next week maybe we'll get a chance to see if Fitz can do any better. Even if they're worried about Runyan's knee, why not sign him and try and stabilize that O-line? Maybe he just wants too much money.

That would take care of the motion penalties, well at least most of them. Your right, it falls on APV to get the O-line comfy. If he fails to see this simple correction they have to find themselfs another OC at the end of the season.

He sucks, but there are far too many holes on the team to think that TE is the only problem and Ryan Fitzpatrick is the answer. We know what we have with Fitzpatrick. Edwards should stick it out so we can at least see if he is tough enough to turn his season around. Parrish should have be cut years ago.
BillsFan74 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I don't care anymore this season if over I want a top 5 pick.
