I live in Ohio and was watching the game with a buddy of mine who is a Browns fan at a local bar. After Mitchell and Buggs were both carted off the field, I made a comment about the number of Bills out with injuries not just this year, but what seem like the last 3-4 years.

He said the Browns used to be that way under Butch Davis and Romeo Crennel (whose camps were called "Camp Cupcake" in Cleveland), who both ran "soft" camps with not a lot of hitting. However, Mangini ran a very physical camp, lots of hitting. Some players were actually complaining. However, they haven't had many injuries that have taken starters out for long periods/the entire season.

Question is: what kind of camp does/has Jauron run? I haven't been out to a camp since the Fredonia days of Mike Mularky. My guess would be that Jauron runs training camp closer to the style of Davis and Crennel rather than Mangini.

Also, what are they doing in the training room/weight room? They just seem to be weak.

It's a tough call about training camp. Hate to see guys go down for the year in August, too.

Levy was criticized for running a soft camp also. How about that our players are just too small? 220 lb LB's??

Have to agree, we have small LBs and also small DEs and some also have past history of injuries as well. Timeto get bigger at LB position, that is for sure.

It's the training staff's fault

it's the coach's fault

it's the players fault for not training properly in the off season.

Bad teams always have more injuries.

And bad teams usually have bad players who make bad decisions that result in themselves or those around them getting injured. Ladies and gentlemen...your Buffalo Bills...

Please explain how having a "tough" training camp would have prevented:

  1. Butler's knee from buckling when his own guy fell into him.
  2. Shouman's knee from twisting around itself.
  3. Mitchell's knee from twisting around itself.
  4. Poz's forearm bone getting broken.
  5. Whitner's thumb from getting hurt.
  6. Scott's high ankle sprain.

Folks, they're not pulling muscles or getting cramps. These are not preventative ailments.

This may actually have some truth to it.
