Hard to criticize them for that move, or for Poz getting injured, and leaving a void at MLB. Fletcher relates to Poz as well, although that may have been a mistake (although if you really want to play hindsight, the Bills probably should have drafted David Harris). Leonhard is a "right place, right time" kind of guy and the Ravens' and Jets' are so dominant in their front-7 that it makes their secondary look good by comparison. Clements was overpaid and has been inconsistent, although when he's good, he's very good. Winfield was a decent player, but not a great one, and the Vikes gave him a $10M roster bonus, which the Bills couldn't match. And Spikes was a shell of his former self with the Bills and Eagles, although it seems he might have successfully come back to a degee. Again, hard to fault the Bills in that situation. Pat Williams was a huge mistake, as was releasing Ted Washington. Both were great players, and neither was paid a ton or injured/coming off injury. Nah, Winfield is much better than you give him credit for. Pat Williams loss hurt the Bills D more than they will ever admit. Those 2 guys were worth holding onto. The other guys are insignificant. Living in the DC area, Fletcher is the same player he was with the Bills. A sound defensive leader, but he is not going to win you any games. Spikes was good with Buffalo, but washed up afterwards. Those 2 guys were worth holding onto. Williams was a Donahoe decision. As for Winfield, where would you rate him league-wise since leaving the Bills? Top 10? Top 3? Best CB in the league?
