Buffaloed in Pa Posted October 10, 2009 Author Posted October 10, 2009 Don't forget Pat Williams, Antoine Winfield, Jim Leonard....all starting for top 5 defenses That`s right. Also TKO is playing some good ball in San Fran.
ExiledInIllinois Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Hey! What are you guys doing... Starting your own All-Regret Team thread?
silvermike Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 The top 5 defenses, by points, are Denver, San Francisco, The Jets, Indianapolis, and Washington. Denver: Mario Haggan San Francisco: Nate Clements, Takeo Spikes Jets: Jimmy Leonard Colts: (none) Redskins: Fletcher. Note that we have no depth at linebacker. Note that you could build a starting LB corps from our "cast offs," none of whom left for huge contracts.
Max997 Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Don't forget Pat Williams, Antoine Winfield, Jim Leonard....all starting for top 5 defenses Pat Williams was TD and Winfield although a really good player was given a boatload of guaranteed money
justnzane Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Ok, so you are complaining that we didn't keep a guy who has 10 tackles for the Broncos this season as a starting ILB? Haggan was a great ST player that is only making ~$1.6 million. AKA Backup player.

Doc Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Haggan was suspended for violating the SAP and had shown little as a LB'er with the Bills. Hard to criticize them for that move, or for Poz getting injured, and leaving a void at MLB. Fletcher relates to Poz as well, although that may have been a mistake (although if you really want to play hindsight, the Bills probably should have drafted David Harris). Leonhard is a "right place, right time" kind of guy and the Ravens' and Jets' are so dominant in their front-7 that it makes their secondary look good by comparison. Clements was overpaid and has been inconsistent, although when he's good, he's very good. Winfield was a decent player, but not a great one, and the Vikes gave him a $10M roster bonus, which the Bills couldn't match. And Spikes was a shell of his former self with the Bills and Eagles, although it seems he might have successfully come back to a degee. Again, hard to fault the Bills in that situation. Pat Williams was a huge mistake, as was releasing Ted Washington. Both were great players, and neither was paid a ton or injured/coming off injury.
TheLynchTrain Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 I've been waiting for this useless thread for a while...why didn't we keep MARIO HAGGAN? HOLY ****! MARIO HAGGAN!

Oh, and let's wake up that Jason Peters fan who also likes to post like this...

Nah, Winfield is much better than you give him credit for. Pat Williams loss hurt the Bills D more than they will ever admit. Those 2 guys were worth holding onto. The other guys are insignificant. Living in the DC area, Fletcher is the same player he was with the Bills. A sound defensive leader, but he is not going to win you any games. Spikes was good with Buffalo, but washed up afterwards. He's running on fumes in San Fran. Clements is not really missed IMO. Not for those dollars.
Doc Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Nah, Winfield is much better than you give him credit for. Pat Williams loss hurt the Bills D more than they will ever admit. Those 2 guys were worth holding onto. Williams was a Donahoe decision. As for Winfield, where would you rate him league-wise since leaving the Bills? Top 10? Top 3? Best CB in the league? Because he's made almost $7.2M/year with the Vikings from 2004-2007.
Fan in San Diego Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 I alsways liked Hammer Head Haggan. This is yet another example of the terrible talent evaluation of the Bills. We need sweeping changes in the FO to make this team competitive again. Sell the team Ralph, you are not up to the challenge.
iinii Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Pat Williams was a huge mistake, as was releasing Ted Washington. No pun intended?

But you are retarded if you think that Haggan is an impact player Thus there are a lot of retards on this thread.
