silvermike Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Through last week, Dick Jauron has a lifetime winning percentage of .423, 115th among the 151 coaches with more than 50 games coached. No active coach ranks beneath him in this category. Additionally, only two coaches have coached more games than he has with such a crummy record: Joe Kuharich and Norm Van Brocklin. Van Brocklin's career has a Hall of Fame QB may have gotten him some extra time, and Jauron will pass Kuharich in games coached at the bye week. The meaning of all this is that no coach as bad as Jauron has been given as many chances to fail for the past 35 years. This isn't to say that Dick Jauron is the worst coach in NFL history; there are plenty more who have worse winning percentages. It's just to say that the decision to keep Jauron may be the worst coaching choice since TO was born.

It's hard to imagine ANY NFL HC could do worse than 2-21 vs. Teams who finished the Season with winning records...So even though a few may be worse overall...Jauron does have certain loser categories he dominates...
BuffaloBill Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 After a point, the numbers do not lie. One winning season says it all. The man is not a qualified NFL coach and he is not supported by an NFL caliber front office.
crazyDingo Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Bah. Numbers are from the Devil. Go with your gut. I got a good feeling about this guy.

Haven Moses Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Sad part is that in Buffalo Bills History, JAuron is firmly in the middle of the pack. Marv Levy 123-78-0 0.612 Lou Saban 32-29-1 0.598 Wade Phillips 29-21-0 0.580 Chuck Knox 38-38-0 0.500 Mike Mularkey 14-18-0 0.438 Joe Collier 13-17-1 0.433 Dick Jauron 22-30-0 0.423 Buster Ramsey 11-16 0.407 Gregg Williams 17-31-0 0.354 Kay Stephenson 10-26 0.278 John Rauch 7-20 0.259 Hank Bullough 4-17 0.190 Jim Ringo 3-20 0.130 Harvey Johnson 1-13 0.080
bschmoove Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Wonder if Ralph is aware of these numbers? God Jauron is inept. Makes Mularkey and Williams look like geniuses!
Dr. Trooth Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 This isn't to say that Dick Jauron is the worst coach in NFL history; OK, but, IMO, he is. I think this is a clear indication of RW and the FO. WTF was RW thinking when he re-upped Jauron after 4 games last year. Did he actually think DJ was deserving, or, did he think his FO was worth a crap. I think Mariam Webster should place a picture of RW next to the definition of "senior moment". He was out of his f---ing mind... and still is.
