I think most BB fans will now admit that it's time to shake up the coaching staff, the front office, Trent perhaps. . . Maybe even more. But, how can we get Ralph to listen to us or at least aknowledge our pain and suffering? People have suggested starting a petition, but they are meaningless and actually require the signers to do something other than sign their name to a piece of paper (for example refuse to buy tickets, merchandise, come to games, etc).

Here is what I say we should do. At the next home game, and each one there after, Bills fans will need to bring something other than their love and passion for the team with them into the stands. That something is Bic Lighters. Follow me here. Rather than staging a walkout (which we know will have no effect-- remember Cincy and Detroit a few years back), which would only reduce what little power the 12th man has left, I suggest that when the game is over, everyone who brought a lighter into the stands should then leave it behind for the cleanup crews to deal with. Creative people might even want to right FIRE on one side, and JAURON on the other!

Here is what this will accomplish:

1. It will prove that Bills fans are creative and have a firey passion for their team.

2. Such a creative statement will surely get national attention and put even more pressure and focus on Ralph.

3. FINALLY & MOST IMPORTANT- It will create a mess and I'm not talking about the kind of mess that you can sweep up after the game. A mess of this type will be costly to clean up and will hit Ralph in the pocket book. Think about it. If each of the 54,000 season ticket holders brings 5 lighters and we assume that each lighter contains .5 fl oz of butane, then Ralph will have over 1000 gallons of butane strewn about his stadium. Although I might be wrong about this, but such a large quantity of discarded butane would probably be considered hazardous waste, and would have to be taken care of accordingly.

This idea will only cost each participant about $5 and would allow us to still support our team with out leaving the stands. Hell, I myself would be more than happy to bring 20 or 30 lighters-- as many as I could "sneak in" if it would somehow aid in bringing Ralph to his senses.

Flame away (no pun intended)....

Hahahahaha, this has to be one of the stupidest things I have ever read.

...3. FINALLY & MOST IMPORTANT- It will create a mess...

...and that mess will have to be cleaned up by innocent stadium workers that are just tyring to make a few extra bucks during Sunday home games. And what makes you think 150,000 individual safe lighters add up to a hazerdous waste situation? Do you have to take your old lighters to a special waste drop off? I'm not a smoker or camper and have never even purchased a lighter, but please enlighten me, because I've never heard of lighters being something to throw out in any "special" way. So the only thing your brilliant idea will accomplish is to add time and effort onto the Ralphs stadium workers.

Simply brilliant. :flirt::ph34r::w00t:

I am used to taking lighters to concerts, and holding them alit to encourage the band to return to thestage for an encore, why the hell would I want them to retake the stage for another couple of dumb-ass plays?

Then again, if only the Bills retake the stage, and the opposition stays in the locker room, maybe, just maybe they could convert a 3rd down, more than likely they get flagged for an illegal formation

What are you? The local Bic Lighter rep? I would actually be scared to be in the stadium with that many drunk fans with lighters.

Hopefully this brain child will get arrested for attempted arson.

There's something uniquely Buffalo about how we (Bills fans) still think we matter. It's part of what makes Bills fans so special, and different from ... say ... Miami fans I see down here in South Florida. Bills fans want so badly to think they matter that they repeatedly ignore every piece of evidence to the contrary.

Protests, walkouts, daily articles from the entire WNY media, ridicule on national television ... heck, we could use your Bic Lighters to light 80,000 of Ralph's old man walkin' far**, and he would neither notice nor care.

Ralph does what he wants, when he wants, and his decisions are influenced primarily by the mirror. Had the Donohoe experiment worked, things might be different. Now, he prefers to be surrounded by calm, old (or otherwise non-threatening) people, who call him 2-3 times a week to run any relevant decision by the real boss. Once and awhile he feels enough pressure from actions by other owners to do something nominal - like ditching the Turk-ey - but he's probably not about to overhaul the biggest marketable asset in his estate when at 91 he's not even being advised to buy any green bananas.

It's a shame because we deserve better, but despite decades of unparalled fan support, I wouldn't count on Ralph taking the podium to say that ... and then clean house and usher in the Gruden/Cowher era. Ralph feels as though he's already done his part just by keeping the team in WNY.

It hurts, it's not right ... but it is what it is. Dats "our" Billz.

Paper bags will be worn by some people starting this weekend im pretty sure.

How about we all sneak in FOR SALE signs? just imagine a few thousand fans with Hunt or Realty USA signs all over the stadium

Fans across the league have tried many things to light a fire (no pun intended) under their team's seat bottom, in most cases to no avail. Staying home is always an option, but most folk who have already spent the cash for a ticket would probably refuse to do that. Imagine a stadium full of ticket holders sitting in "DEAD" silence throughout the entire game. No cheers, no claps, no standing (I hear the guards frown on that now). NOTHING. Just go to the game.. sit thru the game as long as you can stand it, then go home.

That message would be heard around the world. It would make the news in practically every country on this planet. "62,000 FANS REFUSE TO CHEER" WOW!!

It's late, I'm tired...stupid ideas have a habit of sneaking out at night.

That's actually a new one....would be interesting. Would be silent, like the sound inside Jaurons head.

A petition with season ticket holders demanding their money back because of a poor product will get RW's attention more than anything else.

It pathetic, absolutely pathetic to have the entire fan base soured by its football team only a quarter of the way through the season.( by one man) Don't we deserve to have some hope for a better tomorrow.

No team is better than this current team.

As frustrated as I am, I know I'll be in front of my TV with my ice cold home-brewed beer cheering for Buffalo on Sunday. We'll probably have to deal with Solomon Wilcots and the "Bee-oos" as an announcer, but that's what happens when the team doesn't win.

I think you should have titled this An idea and left it to others to decide if it's brilliant.........I'm guessing that everybody thinks their own ideas are brilliant. Not everybody advertises them as such.
