Our LB's got whipped tonight and couldn't get off their blocks. The Pats sealed the corners beautifully. Our terrible safety play has to stop. Milloy is solid, but Reese is nowhere near a starting calibre player. Vincent hurry back!!! Bottom line is anybody who thinks that defense is elite doesn't understand football. However, let the Jags march right down the field in crunch, in our house for the game winner. Ummmm, choke. #2 Oakland. Yeah, we needed offense. But the busted plays against the Raiders cost us when they shouldn't have. #3 The Jets. See #1 #4 NE - Ummmmmmmmmm, ass whoopin! #5 Baltimore - Now that's an elite defense. And they shut down our offense like elite defenses do. #6 NE - Ass whoopin #2 And yeah, I know. It would be nice to have some points. But Jax and Balt are both 6-3 with about as inept offenses as ours is. And they don't constantly surrender good field position when given to them. And just wait, our D rating will slowly slip when we play the Rams and Hawks in the next couple of weeks. Our defense is definately our strength, but it is grossly over-rated by our fans! The DL is pitiful rushing the passer, the safeties are non-existent, and London Fletcher was completely exposed and humiliated by the Pats. Fletcher has been hiding behind his numerous tackle statistics, but most of his tackles seem to come about 9 yards downfield. Imagine the utter joy that the Pats feel having dumped Bledsoe on a division rival for a fist round draft choice and then watch their reject lead the Bills down a losing rat hole for years! But don't forget the penalties that keep drives going, the lack of turnovers forced, and the most inopportune times to give up plays (see Jax and Oakland) That Izell Reese is a total liability in the secondary. He NEVER turns his head around to make a play on the ball. All he does is try to tackle the receiver once he has caught it. His safety play is downright brutal.
