NoName Posted October 6, 2009 Author Posted October 6, 2009 Not close at all. Lil Antoine showed ZERO playmaking skills and mediocre coverage skills during his time in Buffalo. To his credit, he was very good in run support, and also served as a role model to all fellow midget Bills fans who ever dreamed of making it in the NFL... but he was no Nate. They both play in the NFC last year right????? Who was selected to the pro bowl by his peers last year?
NoName Posted October 6, 2009 Author Posted October 6, 2009 now I see why you are an undrafted free agent.... Like I am going to take a guy named after Mel Kipers hair seriously
Kipers Hair Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Like I am going to take a guy named after Mel Kipers hair seriously You're right, my bad...let me get back to looking for Crowell's stats.....
Orton's Arm Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 One of the biggest impacts has been Sammy Morris. If you watched New England / Ravens game you would see a RB who just made critical plays at right time. Good point about Sammy Morris. The Bills drafted him in 2000, using a fifth round pick. Since then, they've used the following early picks on the RB position: 2001 - 2nd - Travis Henry 2003 - 1st - Willis McGahee 2007 - 1st - Marshawn Lynch Had the Bills kept guys like Sammy Morris and Antowain Smith, there wouldn't have been as much need to address the RB position so early and so often from 2001 - 2007. Even if Morris and Smith represented somewhat inferior RBs to some of the guys on the list, the bottom line is that we needed help elsewhere a lotmore than we needed a moderate upgrade at the RB position. A team should, if at all possible, become solid on both lines and at QB before going after shiny, early round DB's and RBs. During the time when the bulk of a team's draft value is being funneled into the lines, the QB position, and the #1 WR position, a Sammy Morris-level RB is perfectly acceptable, even as a starter. And, later, he can always become a perfectly productive change of pace/backup RB.
DaBills51 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 We could have paid for a lot of them. What I don't understand is how a team like the Minnesota Vikings, a relatively small market team, can afford to sign away 2 of our big name free agents in Pat Williams and Antoine Winfield, trade for Jared Allen and sign him to a lucrative extension 6yrs/$73million, sign Steve Hutchinson to a 7yr/$49million contract, sign Bernard Berrian to 6yr/$42million contract, resign Kevin Williams to a 7yr/$50million extension, and resign Bryant McKinnie to a 7yr/$49million contract..... Yet the only players that the Bills can resign worth mentioning are Aaron Schobel and possibily Terrence Mcgee.

C'mon man......the Bills paid out a 7yr/$49million contract to stud LG Derrick Dockery...what more do you want? Seriously, the difference is that their rich owner is willing to shell out more of his money to field a winner than our rich owner.
Sisyphean Bills Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Pat Williams. Glad we got rid of him. He's still better than anyone we've had at DT since -- including Stroud. Seriously, the difference is that their rich owner is willing to shell out more of his money to field a winner than our rich owner. The difference is that their owner shells out money for really good football players. Our shells out money to bad football players (how many FAs that Levy brought in here are still here? Zero.) hoping that all the new coin in their pockets will transform them.
bdelma Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Takeo Spikes, still playing. We wanted too much $$$, I guess.
