deep2evans Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Trent Edwards is nothing more then a backup QB in the NFL, its as simple as that This. It takes a delusional person to actually think he has the ability to be an NFL QB. I'm done with him. Bradford, McCoy, Snead, Clausen, Locker - SOMEONE!!
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I'm done with TE ... He's not a franchise QB ... he's a game manager at best and right now he is regressing and is a train wreck. We're stuck for now, but time to keep looking in the offseason. Took you long enough. I saw this after 6 games of his rookie season.
dave mcbride Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Also, on one of the long passes to TO, you can actually see him begin his throwing motion to Marshawn for ANOTHER F#CKING checkdown before Marshawn takes on a tackler and he has to throw it downfield. He's a coward. A spineless coward. And the whole team is starting to quit on our "Captain". The Cowardly Cardinal?
damj Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 Took you long enough. I saw this after 6 games of his rookie season. I bought the whole ... he doesn't have receivers ... he's young ... yada yada yada ... Flacco, Ryan, Sanchez are young ... they can do it ... TE never will ...

Flacco, Ryan, Sanchez are young ... they can do it ... TE never will ... Exactly. All those toolboxes that thought he had "it"...wonder what happened to them. I saw at least three plays this year where Trent could have stepped up to avoid the rush and didn't. He's simply too chickenshit to play right now.
5 Wide Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 The Saints game finished any hope I had for trent. 4th and 18 or 22 or whatever it was, and he threw a checkdown to Jackson. 4th and VERY LONG and he still threw a checkdown. That tells you where his head and his heart are at.
pBills Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Exactly. All those toolboxes that thought he had "it"...wonder what happened to them. Pine Barrens Mafia Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Of course, you knew it ALLLLLL along. Yes. I was anti-Trent from the beginning. I felt the coaches gave Losman the prison-shower treatment.
Captain Hindsight Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Took you long enough. I saw this after 6 games of his rookie season. Ditto
Omar Little Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I've defended him for a long time. I can't any longer. Same. He sucks.
pBills Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Yes. I was anti-Trent from the beginning. I felt the coaches gave Losman the prison-shower treatment. Losman deserved to go.
Flbillsfan#1 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Is it him? Or does the O-Line have more to do with it? Is it coaching? Who knows. Something is completely broke, and most likely many aspects of the team and coaching staff. We need someone who knows what they are doing to take over the football department and fix this mess Changing the QB will be the New Coaches FIRST PRIORITY.
Flbillsfan#1 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Losman deserved to go. If Losman deserved to go, then Trent should never take another snap as a Bill again. JP NEVER played as bad as Trent did today.
Omar Little Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 If Losman deserved to go, then Trent should never take another snap as a Bill again. JP NEVER played as bad as Trent did today. They both suck. You're choosing between a douche and a turd sandwich.
Ray Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 This is a QB driven league and for the 13th year in a row since JK retired we are going to need to go search yet again....I can not stand it anymore. We can "blame" the coaches all we want but when it comes down to it just ask yourself what our record would be if we had Brady, Favre, Rothlisberger, Favre etc...we would likely be 4-0 and it's b/c of QB play. The coaches don't throw the ball the plays need to be made and you need a playmaker at that position. He just is not good enough....he'll probably be a decent backup QB in the NFL for a decade or so but it looks like he is not a starter in this league....I really was hoping he would be the one but from everything I've seen this year it looks like he's not....just putrid today and it is just not today it is the last about 10-12 games he has played.
BB-Gun Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I'm not sold on Trent Edwards. I become less confident in him each week. But, who the hell would be good when you have no pass blocking. Almost every time Edwards dropped back, he was hit in 3-4 seconds. I started paying closer attention after the 1st quarter, because I wanted to see if it was only Edwards making bad decisions. He was making poor decicions many times, but most of it was the pressure. I don't know of any qb's that can do well with 2 or 3 pass rushers in his face as soon as he finished his 3 or 5 step drop. Neither tackles were very effective. They were only there to escort the defenders into Edwards. TO was going pretty slow out of his cuts and was not doing enough to get separation. Also, TO kept dropping his passes. I think they need to stop playing with an empty backfield. Give him a RB to stay and block for him. Stop trying to appease TO. Start throwing to Evans and Reed. I'm not sure Edwards is the answer, but he needs some blocking before we can decide if he should be run out of here.
Flbillsfan#1 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 They both suck. You're choosing between a douche and a turd sandwich. Can't really argue with that. I think I will choose the douche though, at least that leaves women smelling good.
Same old Story Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I got a great deal on an authentic Bills jersey so I decided to put an order in for a TE's jersey. Well, I just told him to cancel the order after his pick 6. I've been a TE guy, you can ask all my friends but after some throws he made today I'm done as well. He's gotta do something AMAZING to prove otherwise.

The defense KNEW Trent would not throw the ball DOWNFIELD. With that knowledge they were able to concentrate the defense to about a 15 yard area & stack it.

He can't sense pass rush. He can't throw down the middle of the field. He's a 2nd rate QB, period.
