QB Bills Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Says the Bills' offense wouldn't have scored a touchdown if they had another 4 quarters. For a wimpy-looking guy, he sure does talk a lot. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...tml?eref=sihpT1
muffmonster Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Yah that is big talk......I would assume after 4 more quarters their defense would be as gassed as ours was and give up a big play.

For a wimpy-looking guy, he sure does talk a lot. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...tml?eref=sihpT1 The details were however in the Peter King comment about how often the Saints played 6 DB's. Maybe Trent is right and they are taking TO and Lee out of the game. Maybe AVP was right in blaming himself for not making adjustments. The adjustments he was referring to was probably not running the ball more. Same mistake we made in the SB against the Giants. Hopefully Miami plays the same D and Beast mode goes wild. Maybe us fans don't know anything and DJ and Trent know a lot more than we do. Sucks to admit it but Trent check downs were probably the right thing to do on the passing plays that were called. The TO effect seems to be working on the other teams D strategy. Now Buffalo needs to take advantage. Turn Marshawn and Jackson into Thomas and Riddick. The passing game will come along when they fear our run game.

They should be pissed about that but I doubt they are. That's what they get for being pu**ies and not trying to extend a drive with 7 minutes to go in a game. They are laughing at us.

QB Bills Posted October 2, 2009 Author Posted October 2, 2009 WOW. That is a ballsy statement and an insult to Dick Juaron and this team. They should be pissed about that but I doubt they are. That's what they get for being pu**ies and not trying to extend a drive with 7 minutes to go in a game. They are laughing at us. Seriously. I haven't heard of Payton making controversial statements (not that I follow that team), but this is rather embarrassing. I hate that the Bills are thought of this way, and have been for so long.
muffmonster Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I am sure he wasn't saying that as a purposeful digg on the Bills, but it certainly doesn't make us look good in the national media. We are good enough at doing that ourselves.

For a wimpy-looking guy, he sure does talk a lot. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...tml?eref=sihpT1 I completely agree. At 10-7, the game was over; there was no chance we were going to score again (except by defense and ST).

BuffaloBill Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 What is concerning in all of this is that it is a copycat league. Until Trent and crew can show that they will beat this style of defense they are likly to see it again and again. I beliieve Clevelnad did something similiar last year where they dropped 7 and sometimes 8 people in coverage and the bills were only releasing 2 or 3 receivers into routes. Bottom line is that the Bills offense is a mess.
Major Mud Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 You may be right, however if TE had thrown that ball to TO and he caught it he was gone, giving us a 14-10 lead. I think that may have been the biggest play , or non play in the game. ( oh and Parrish's fumble didnt help! )

The passing game will come along when they fear our run game. adjustments are what seperates winning from losing in this league. We were running the ball with success but repeatedly got derailed by penalties and found ourselves in terrible down and distance. So it's a combination of things that wrecked our chances on offense. WAY too much shotgun, especially when in the 2nd half Hangartner couldn't snap it right
2003Contenders Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 In reading the article, I didn't take it that way. I took it more as Payton complimenting Gregg for the game planning he did against the Bills -- and the way that the Saints' defense really seemed to have the Bills number ON THAT PARTICULAR day.

Steely Dan Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I completely agree. At 10-7, the game was over; there was no chance we were going to score again (except by defense and ST). The truth hurts but it's still the truth. Greggo knows the 3-4 stymies the Bills like a monkey trying to do a math problem and he threw it at them just about all game long. They HAVE to fix that OBVIOUS flaw or they're gonna get ripped apart by every team that runs it or has the ability to run it for one week. Is it the protection schemes? Is it play design? Is it that the O line just can't handle anyone? Is it the play calling? I vote all of the above. Good god, this team needs a new coaching staff. (except for April, obviously.)

Max997 Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 The details were however in the Peter King comment about how often the Saints played 6 DB's. Maybe Trent is right and they are taking TO and Lee out of the game. before this year it was defenses are taking Lee out of the game, now its defenses are taking Lee and TO out of the game...come on, you dont think teams plan to take Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark out of the game or Jennings and Driver...at some point the offense has to beat the defense...period
truth on hold Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 well i say he's wrong. if you factor in jauron's horrible decision-making it's more like 10 quarters
1billsfan Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Says the Bills' offense wouldn't have scored a touchdown if they had another 4 quarters. For a wimpy-looking guy, he sure does talk a lot. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...tml?eref=sihpT1 He's right. When you're playing against a head coach and a QB who are a couple of p_ssies then it stands to reason you'd feel confident they wouldn't score a touchdown given another 4 quarters of play.
