Jerry Jabber Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I work with two Pittsburgh Steelers fans (both from Pittsburgh), and they tell me that the Steelers haven't had a good offensive coordinator since Mularkey. Even though Mularkey wasn't a good head coach, I do miss his offense creativity. He lined Lee Evans all over the field, that way he could get open, instead of just an the outside. One of the best plays I remember seeing from Mularkey, was when Bledsoe started going in on a QB sneak, then threw it back to Trash (McGahee) and Trash ran it 33 yards for a TD.

Fewell733 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 he was certainly creative. Amazing we got the production we did with a guy like Bledsoe, Losman and a horrific offensive line. Terrible head coach though. Couldn't manage the players or the press (though I think the latter was probably more on Donahoe).
MartyBall4Buffalo Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 TD destroyed Mularkey by forcing him to play Losman. ^This, drafting Losman is what destroyed TD and Mularkey. Mularkey is more than proving his worth with a good quarterback in Matt Ryan.

Jerry Jabber Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 No good offensive coordinator, just two Lombardi trophies. The old saying goes: "Defense wins championships." Wish we still had Dick LeBeau.
BuffaloBill Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 The old saying goes: "Defense wins championships." Wish we still had Dick LeBeau. Amen to that ... the guy is a genius at his craft.
MarkyMannn Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 This team could be 3-0 with Mularkey as OC and Greg Williams as DC
GG Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 This team could be 3-0 with Mularkey as OC and Greg Williams as DC And Jauron as head coach? Fat chance.
C.Biscuit97 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 And Jauron as head coach? Fat chance. Guess you missed our 4-0 start last year.

Mularkey is more than proving his worth with a good quarterback in Matt Ryan. I will always believe that TD's ego was so damaged by that home loss to Pittsburgh that he couldn't think straight. Drew had a year left and there was no possible way that Losman was ready.
