Seems J-ville is thinking of having games in Orlando at the crumbling citrus bowl. funny how Ralph hated the last collective bargaining agreement and now is justified. Now has games in Toronto (even though fan base is strong) and J-ville took notice (money). with every media outlet going gaga over Dallas's new palace are we watching the whorification of our beloved pastime?

What does Ralph's decision to sell out on his hometown fans for Canadian money have to do with the CBA?

"Whorification", eh? Did Jones pimp the Cowboys to Mexico City for $78 million?

Puh-leeze. Jerry Jones prints money in Dallas. As if he's going to move a game elsewhere and make less? But trust me, if Jerry could make one extra peso dressing the Cowboys like matadors and playing in a Tijuana bull fighting ring, he would.

uh, the CBA has plenty to do with it if the Bills intend to make up the gap between generating money and the escalating salary cap, which is rising more because of new buildings, such as Jones' palace, than it is because of what the Bills have done in leasing their games to Toronto.

and the real trouble becomes when owners spending extravagant loads of money on new buildings now need to pay off that mountain of debt, thereby tipping the scales even further against small market teams and those who's revenue-generating ability has been tapped out because of location and/or economy.

Jones doesn't need to play games at other locations because he can virtually sell out his own place and make money doing so. the Bills, by comparison, are limited in their options to generate that revenue, thus leading to the deal with Toronto, which, in retrospect, is starting to look like the Bills fleeced the Toronto organizers.

John W., No one is doubting that the economic environment for the NFL will force changes in how business is done. Owners such as Jerry Jones, Snyder, Kraft etc who have paid (or sizeably contributed) to the building of new stadiums

have become less tolerant and more irritated with backwater owners such as Ralph Wilson who demand increased revenue sharing from the more wealthy clubs, yet they fail to maximize what they have in their own more limited markets. Other than the stadium in Orchard Park there isn't a stadium which hasn't generated revenue by selling the naming rights. It is outrageous that a miser owner such as Ralph Wilson has a stadium named after him when he didn't pay a nickle for it, and subsequently for its upgrade. Money generated from the naming rights should go to the county which payed for the stadium.

The Bills for a long time have been dismal on the field. There is no need to elaborate on that obvious point. Bringing in Marv Levy and then Russ Brandon, the marketing specialist, to run the football operations is not only laughable, but idiotic. What that says is very clear. The owner wants to extract as much money out of the franchise with little consideration for its ability to compete on the field.

Franchises such as Pittsburgh, Indy, Green Bay, Tenn., Baltimore, Carolina etc are small market franchises. They are able to reasonably compete on the field because they are well run. The Bills consistenly lose because they are ineptly run. When you are approaching 91 yrs of age one would think there would be a sense of some urgency to putting a presentable product on the field. Not with the Bills' owner. The system he clings to is working perfectly fine for himself.

Despite the CBA, the Bills made $39 million in operating income + estimated 3-4% appreciation on the franchise value. Pretty hard to have much sympathy. And yes it looks liked they fleeced the folks in Toronto while upsetting the folks in Buffalo. Nice job.
