Buckeye Eric Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 ... and started trying to be fancy and dance around in his return game? He used to run upfield with reckless abandon. It seems that every return this year he has been afraid of getting hit.
goynahan Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Parrish's return style is not suited to Kickoff Return. Many punt returners use their agility and quickness to go east to west when attempting to make people miss. That approach doesnt work for kickoff return, where it is more about picking your spot and hitting it as fast as possible before the coverage team can close on the lane you chose. he should stick to punt return because that style is never going to work on kickoff.
BillsWatch Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 This is the reason why Parrish has not been used on kickoff teams in past. As a punt returner he can dodge between blockers but on kickoff teams he is not as effective.
DrDawkinstein Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 i have a feeling that with Lynch's return, we'll see Jackson running back kicks and Parrish back to only doing punts. they are completely different animals
Lofton80 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 He was a liability yesterday. Not a lot of blocking on any of the kicks.
