Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Come on people, seriously...A win over a TERRIBLE TB franchise, and some of you were thinking this team was going in the right direction? Reality check. They're going to lose in Miami next week, and it isn't going to be pretty.
Dan Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 You can call all the deep plays you want, but none of it matters when your gutless QB wont deliver the ball and simply relies on the checkdown. I've noticed a disturbing trend where if Trentative throws downfield unsuccessfully, he goes into a shell and basically refuses to do it again. But hey, as long as we throw 4 yard patterns on 3rd and 8, its all good. or 4th and 25. Brilliant!
truth on hold Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 !) As far as I am concerned, Levitre looks as good as Wood at this point. 2) Seriously, what is the story with Kelsay? They couldn't give him away in a trade. He has sucked for years, but he is making plays. 3) People, we have NO offensive tackles. I am still about Chambers at LT. Bell is small and weak. We might need to face this as Bills Fans, dontcha think? 4) I know about how great April is.....blah, blah, blah. At the same time, I am getting just a bit ill from the special team mistakes, and am starting to raise an eyebrow. 5) Florence was a great signing. There, I said this. 6) My mind is weary, but Scott at RT reminded me of a horror show we had at RT. Terrance Pennington anyone? I'm talking nightmare city. 7) Sure...Trent looked bad on the 3rd quarter pick, but so did Jauron and so did the "great" Van Pelt. It was time to go deep. 8) Stroud playing at a high level is a given. Kyle Williams had a great game and I appreciate this. 9) There was a commercial in which the theme was "life without walls." Did anyone see this? Jauron should do one and use the theme, "life without balls." 10) The return of Schobel makes a difference. Our defense, while needing help up the middle approaches being legit. 11) Well, here we are, suffering after another home loss. Still, being a Bills fan is great! I mean this. Suffering makes us stronger, and I am proud to be in this mess with a great bunch of people. Our day will come (OMG forgive the cliche). 12) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its not balls, its a brain thats missing. he's pulled this crap time after time, year after year at crunch time. i am 100% convinced this team will never go anywhere with Jauron as coach. never said that before, but today when he punted on 4th and less than 1, down 2 scores with something like 6 mins to go to a high powered offense that was starting to move on our defense, it became crystal clear to me this man will never learn. he's what you call bush - league. he's a high school coach, nothing more. it's all very futile with jauron as head coach.
BLZFAN4LIFE Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Are you suggesting that they will have won 6-7 games after playing 13 and are you also suggesting that they will win any of the last 3? I'll admit my fault. I read "this is what a 6-7 team looks like" My fault, but hey, I'm on my 12th beer ova here! So I actually agree with you. Dicky J. has this team headed for another 7-9 finish. Beat the sisters of the poor, but play doormat for the better teams in the league.
No QB - No Bueno Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Why are the Bills unable to run the normal complement of routes to free receivers? Why is every route straight line deep or a dump off? Why can't they run intermediate or shallow crossing routes to give Lee and TO a running start. Why is the passing game so boring? Predictable?
Mark Vader Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 13. Keith Ellison SUCKS!!!! 14. We can't get the ball to our WR's 15. Penalties 12/116 I'm surprised no one has mentioned this. Penalties destroyed the Bills today.
cobruhhh Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 true, penalties, retarded. but, the saints had there share too, 10 or 11. mostly defensive penalties we couldnt make into points. and, most of our penalties were on ST and we had too many starts inside our 15, that would be taken back to the 10 because of false starts. drive killin.
Ralonzo Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Trent had a terrible day. I have an idea....let's pretend we can play NFL football with NO offensive tackles worth a ****. Carry on. You sure can't run the ball with a Pro Bowl LT and garbage from guard to guard. I'll take what we've got on OL this year over any of the last 10.
Bill from NYC Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 You can call all the deep plays you want, but none of it matters when your gutless QB wont deliver the ball and simply relies on the checkdown. I've noticed a disturbing trend where if Trentative throws downfield unsuccessfully, he goes into a shell and basically refuses to do it again. But hey, as long as we throw 4 yard patterns on 3rd and 8, its all good. The problem was more with the amateurish OTs than with Trent, who admittedly had a bad day. If you could get over your love for JP you would be able to view NFL football in a much more objective way.

Why can't they run intermediate or shallow crossing routes to give Lee and TO a running start. Why is the passing game so boring? Predictable? Exactly. I watch the NFL Highlights shows and every other team in the league looks competent at least some of the time and then you watch the Bills and ...pfft. They look clueless.
bubills31 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Come on people, seriously...A win over a TERRIBLE TB franchise, and some of you were thinking this team was going in the right direction? Reality check. They're going to lose in Miami next week, and it isn't going to be pretty. What games have you been watching? We should have won against the Pats, and we held the best offense in the league to 27 points (10 off of turnovers) and the best QB in the league to NO TD's. We are very close, very close to putting this together.
Dan Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 The problem was more with the amateurish OTs than with Trent, who admittedly had a bad day. If you could get over your love for JP you would be able to view NFL football in a much more objective way. Trent has enough time on enough plays to at least attempt a ball to the WRs. But, all too often he was standing back there waiting for the sack. He's not going to get 4-6 seconds consistently. He needs to pick the guy with single coverage, drop back and throw it. How long does that take... 2, 3 seconds? I agree the O line looked miserable today. But, Trent did absolutely nothing to help it. He looked scared more than anything. Of course, it would have helped to throw in some screens and draw plays as well.
CodeMonkey Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 We need a QB with Balls or TO is gonna quit on us. I am surprised he has not yet as he has never been on a tema with a QB that won't throw the ball past the line of scrimmage when behind in th egame. Broke his 185 game stream of games with a reception today. He didn't seem pleased with the play calling in the press conference.
John Adams Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 AVP did a crappy job today. I am still waiting for NO to stop Jackson on a running play. Trent was awful. O-line was too but give them credit Bill: They are a much much better run-blocking team than they were last year and on pass-protection, they are worse at the edges but stronger up the middle. Today, they sucked everywhere. Wood's worst game yet. TO is quitting on this team. You can see it.
BuffaloBill Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Bill - as always thanks for the thoughts. Not much to say here .... for me this is simply the next loss on the way to another Dick Jauron year of suck. This team is what its record has shown for years. Mediocre.
No QB - No Bueno Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Exactly. I watch the NFL Highlights shows and every other team in the league looks competent at least some of the time and then you watch the Bills and ...pfft. They look clueless. I'm not asking for exotica. Every non-Bills game I watch has professionals succeeding at the basics of the game to some degree. When I watch the Bills, its as though I'm seeing the creeping but consistent de-evolution of the game.

Today, they sucked everywhere. Wood's worst game yet. TO is quitting on this team. You can see it. I respectfully remind you that run blocking is WAY easier for blockers to do than pass blocking. Think about it.....on a run, blockers know the count. They can fire out and hit people. On passing downs, they are backing up and geting hit. I was worried about Levitre, but he is playing a good, physical game. Hangartner's snaps were high school level and this is a concern. Wood screwed up. This is to be expected but I like this kid. Again, our best blockers are rookie guards and our OTs are sub-par bags of ****. Consider this for a moment if you will.

If you could get over your love for JP you would be able to view NFL football in a much more objective way. what-the-!@#$-ever. Trent Edwards is Kelly Holcomb, only younger. He sucks on ice. Hell he sucks NOT on ice. He sucks like a porn star in a bukake video. He is a steaming soft pile of crap back there, and that's an insult to steaming soft piles of crap. What other NFL QB would check down on a freaking 4th-and-forever late in the 4th? I know one who does ALL THE TIME! It's Captain "Dinky" Checkdown, that's who. (Thanks to the Dingo for that one.)
Offside Number 76 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 We need a QB with Balls or TO is gonna quit on us. I am surprised he has not yet as he has never been on a tema with a QB that won't throw the ball past the line of scrimmage when behind in th egame. He already did; don't let this concern you any longer.
truth on hold Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 im afraid youre all making secondary points. yes the tackles are poor and its hard to have a consistent passing game that way. yes edwards looked tentative at times. yes our once feared kick return game has abandoned us. BUT even fixing all that this team still will never make it to the show. they have a bush-league coach who puts players and units in a psoition to fail. he is a complete spaz at crunch time. he's only here for one reason: he came cheap. thats it, neither his record or standing amongst his peers qualified him. heck, he wasnt even fully regarded here as levy was supposed to oversee him. this is not the era to win with a coach on the cheap: coughlin, bellichek, tomlin, etc etc dont come cheap for a reason ... they know what theyre doing and with them teams can win championships. i repeat: its all futile with jauron as head coach.
