Thursday's gathering was organized by a local anarchist group, whose members said that as a sign of defiance, they intentionally did not obtain a permit to hold their protest. 'nuff said. I think they started making drum circles. Cops cracked down before it turned into a full fledged Hippie festival with bad music. All they had to do was load up some Slayer and play it loud speakers.
