Coach Tuesday Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 According to this article, the Bills' offense has only had ONE three-and-out so far this year: http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/insider/news/story?id=4499630 That's just amazing. Limiting three-and-outs is a key to operating a no-hudle offense effectively. I'm impressed. EDIT: Guess no one here wants to discuss this. Sorry that this thread isn't about Jason Peters.
DwightSchrute Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Linky no worky...but if true, that's surprising

I'll bump this up for you:) AVP is getting it done.
cantankerous Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 We can't read it unless we sign up for the stupid insider. More to discuss when we can see what you're talkin about!
Beerball Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Doesn't this simply mean that our offense doesn't have quick strike capability? Manning doesn't need 3 plays to score a TD. We're too slow.

He said what he was talking about, didn't he? How much more do you need? The ENTIRE thing: Buffalo's offense has only gone three-and-out once out of 20 drives this season. There's also a bit about lots of penalties, but for the original topic, that's it.

I guess they have been converting on downs other that third. Their 3rd down conversions are nothing notable. http://www.nfl.com/teams/buffalobills/statistics?team=BUF That 2/2 on 4th is decent, of course.
Magox Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 good stuff! I believe that 3 and out was because of a dropped pass in the New England game. Far cry from previous years, but it is just the 3rd week.
berndogg Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 That's huge for us. With the no huddle, the main concern that people had was that we were gonna have too many quick three and outs and the defense was gonna be on the field the whole game, so continuing to sustain drives is very important. On the other hand, even without three and outs, the T.O.P against New England was very lopsided, so if the offense sputters it could get scary.
rednecksbasketball Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Wasn't that 3 and out the first possession vs the Patriots? (IE the first offensive possesion of the season)
