Dan Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 see if what I did is sufficient. I like it, FWIW. Seems sensical. Although I agree with DC Tom, "Two Bills Drive Forums" seems more appropriate seeing as how its the TBD website. Maybe that's too much text though, TBD Forums perhaps.

On the sidebar, the header or both? You could make a case that the sidebar should be "TSW" because those are the only links that get shown. I could see the other although there are some other considerations at work here.

Right now the link is called "Buffalo Bills Forums" in both locations. Seems TBD Forums is better suited to tie in with the name of the site. Of course, I don't know all the other considerations.
DrDawkinstein Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 on the main page, in the upper-right bar, i think id just call it "Forums" instead of "Buffalo Bills Forums". Especially since the purpose of the change was to showcase there are other forums besides the football boards. A more general term maybe?

FluffHead Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I think there should still be a link directly to the stadium wall. This just added another damn click into my process of getting here :/
DrDawkinstein Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 there is a Sabres link there too. then maybe a third category? i dont get why the Consumer, H&F, PPP, etc boards would be considered "Bills" forums? (im just playing devils advocate for when this place really takes off )

FluffHead Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 there is - in the sidebar. thank you for pointing that out. looks good now that I realize that. thanks SDS
DrDawkinstein Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 there is - in the sidebar. what sidebar?
Just Jack Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Although I agree with DC Tom, "Two Bills Drive Forums" seems more appropriate seeing as how its the TBD website. Maybe that's too much text though, TBD Forums perhaps. On Google Chrome, "Buffalo Sabres Forums" gets wrapped to a second line so I see.... Two Bills Drive | Buffalo Bills Forums | SabreSpace | Buffalo Sabres Forums I agree with shortening Buffalo Bills Forums to either TBD Forums or just Forums.
DrDawkinstein Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 what sidebar? never mind, i see what youre talkin about in the box
Fan in San Diego Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 My suggestion is to cut down on the size of the current threads in the stadium wall to 2 or 3 and then do the same thing for all of the other forums so you can see them all and represent them all.

Two Bills Drive | Buffalo Bills Forums | SabreSpace | Buffalo Sabres Forums I agree with shortening Buffalo Bills Forums to either TBD Forums or just Forums. but do I need consistency between what they are labeled here and there? I would think yes, but I don't want to change them even if they could have better semantic names.
Just Jack Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 but do I need consistency between what they are labeled here and there? Always cater to the lowest common denominator. If in one place they are called Buffalo Bills Forums and another Two Bills Drive Forums, people will think the BB Forums are the official Bills Forums on their webpage and TBD Forums are yours.

Agreed. One name to unite them all.

But if we keep it tougher, there might be fewer idiots here...

stuckincincy Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Agreed. One name to unite them all. "One Name to rule them all, One Name to find them, One Name to bring them all and in the darkness bind them."
aussiew Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Think Aussie's original point -- a valid one -- was that people looking for road-trip info were having a tough time finding those boards. Ditto for the Bills Backers one. Thanks for trying to work on this Scott. I agree with Jack's suggestion. I liken it to going in to a restaurant - when we open the menu, we'd like to see the categories right up front. then we can decide if we want to go to the Appetizers, Entrees, Salads, desserts etc. section. I have sent people to TBD to find tailgate and Bills Bar info, only to have them call back saying that they couldn't find it.
