H2o Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 http://www.nola.com/saints/t-p/index.ssf?/....xml&coll=1 Looks like we'll only have to deal with a less than 100% Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas. Bell was running really hard out there prior to the knee injury so this bodes well for us. Both Thomas and Bush are still trying to get back to full speed recovering from their respective knee injuries/surgeries. Hopefully we'll be able to get by with the front four handling a majority of the load leaving us able to have more guys in coverage.
BUFFALOTONE Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 This is pretty huge. I thought Pierre Thomas was the answer in NOLA?
streetcar Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 This is pretty huge. I thought Pierre Thomas was the answer in NOLA? Thomas is a good back although he gets banged up too much. He is probably really close to 100% right now and probably would have played last week if not for how good Bell has done. Though Im not a huge Reggie Bush fan, I expect this will be the first breakout game for him this year. Reggie and good TE play go hand in hand becuase one opens up the other by clearing guys out of the way. We havnt been able to throw a screen pass for about 3 years now but it looks like they have finally got it down and if they cant run into the gut of your line then they will use the short passes as an extention of the run. That is what works best for Bush anyway.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 There must be something in the water in New Orleans. Have they ever had a RB who didn't have knee problems?

Lt. Dan's Revenge Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 There must be something in the water in New Orleans. Have they ever had a RB who didn't have knee problems? Not since Ricky Williams. Although he obviously had other "problems". How 'bout my personal favorite "Ironhead" Craig Heyward? Anyone remember that riveting commercial he did for Zest?
Fleured Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 This is pretty huge. I thought Pierre Thomas was the answer in NOLA? He is.
UB2SF Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Thanks for posting this. Anything that can help us roll our D toward downfield coverage and upfield pressure on Brees is good news.
RJ (not THAT RJ) Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 He is. Too bad the question is "Who is the latest running back to tease and disappoint Saints fans."

streetcar Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Heyward was a piece of work. You are going back some to get to him though. He died of cancer a few years ago
