BuffaloBaumer Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 That very well could be two division winners in 2 years to play in Toronto. As if Buffalo can just afford to give away crucial division games. Oh well, thems the breaks. I think that if the Bills can pull off an upset against the Saints, it's on for the division. It should be playoff atmosphere if they can keep it close for this one. Buffalo let a golden opportunity slip through their hands in week one and that will be but a distant memory if week 3 is a W. This is a perfect opportunity to show that they WILL be contending for a division title. It's just too bad that Jets get the Totonto break. They better not dream of putting NE there next year......
billsfreak Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Yea the Toronto game sucks. No reason to believe that there won't be more Jets fans than Bills fans. If there were more Dolphins fans last year, and Miami is a hell of a lot farther from Toronto that NYC is, might be the turning point. The 12th man was invaluable yesterday, it really hampered Leftwich and the offense of the Bucs.
Endzone Animal Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Why should it be a problem... Toronto is a part of the Buffalo market, remember?
billsfreak Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Why should it be a problem... Toronto is a part of the Buffalo market, remember? Ha! Thanks for reminding me?
dave mcbride Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I went to the Jays stadium and saw them play the Yankees while in Toronto recently. There's a pathetic stab at support for the Bills (a sign in the stadium) plus a Bills jersey/clothing shop, but all in all it's a complete clusterf**k. Even with the Jays, a good 35 percent of the fans there seemed to Yankees fans. One gets the sense that whoever the Bills play, 40 percent will be fans of the other team. The stadium itself is pretty lifeless and lame too. It's a bad idea gone wrong, basically ...
Mr. WEO Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I don't know---ask Ralph how an extra $78 million stings. Not too badly, I would think.
SouthernMan Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 What really stings is that if the Bills had held on to beat the Pats, assuming everything else went the same this week, would effectively have a 3 game (including head to head tie breaker) edge on them for any playoff positioning. 3 game lead! That is huge! One fumble and a defensive meltdown in the 4th quarter puts the Bills a game behind them, each at 1-1 and the Pats having the tie break advantage. Hopefully, the Bills will use that as a reminder if they start to get complacent again. I thought they almost did yesterday when there was a mid-game lull. Fortunately, they put their collective feet on the throats of the Bucs and put 'em away. BTW - Loved the 4th quarter jailbreaks by the defensive front. Should have given a little of that to Marcia last week.
