West End Stench Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 First let me preface this post by saying that I had serious intentions of avoiding this forum until probably Sunday night, not for so much the fact that I didn't want to read about the coverage from last nights game, but in fear that I would have to read some of the bi-polar comments from the average Bills fans on here. Some of the posters on this board are damn embarrassing blaming this loss on the coaching staff when they were the ones who set up a terrific game plan to put us in a position to win. And while some of the blame does lie on McKelvin, it's understandable why he took the ball out instead of kneeling it, considering the ball was caught right on top of the goal line. That being said, the Bills have a good shot at bouncing back Sunday against TB. Looking at memorable prime-time let downs and 1 o'clock heartbreaks over Dick Jauron’s tenure, they all have one thing in common(besides serious mental-lapses): the team is typically ready to win the following week: • 2006 Week 1 – Loss @ NE 19-17 (Losman Safety) o Win the following week home vs Miami 16-6 • 2006 Week 10 – Loss @ Indy 17-16 (Late Manning Heroics) o Win the following week @ Houston 24-21 • 2007 Week 5 - Loss home vs Dallas Mon Night 25-24 o Bye, then win 4 straight starting w/ Baltimore • 2008 Week 11 – Loss home vs Cleveland Mon Night 27-29 (Last min FG) o Win @ KC 54-31
TheLynchTrain Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Good find. It's nice to know there's some sane posters out there after the fallout. One thing I'll add: what year was the Miami game when sage rosenfels brought miami back like 21 points in the 4th quarter? Wonder what we did the next game.

EDIT: 2005 Week 13: Loss @Miami 24-23 (after up 21 in first 13 mins, 23-3 going into the 4th) 2005 Week 14 Home NE 35-7 We also went 1 -3 after the MIami game to finish the season. But hey, that was a really bad team http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/teams/schedu...f&year=2005 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=251204015

While I'm by no means a Jauron apologist, I do think he sometimes gets a bad rap due to the L.O.F.T. factor he's had while in Buffalo.
