Realist Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Brady whined after the game that they did not play up to their level. Baloney! They got beat. If McKelvin stays in the end zone... Well that's the thing, New England* didn't play up to their level, but the Bills were far from perfect also.
Red Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Well that's the thing, New England* didn't play up to their level, but the Bills were far from perfect also. Balderdash! There is a huge difference from 'not playing up to your level' and getting beat. Brady didn't 'play up to his level' because Williams was in his face all night. The Bills beat the Patriots last night; but unfortunately that was not reflected in the final score. Thank you Leodis.
YOOOOOO Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 How could you watch last nights game and say Whitner didnt do anything?? Are you blind...... Whitner easily made 4-5 open field tackles, that if he doesnt make them, they go for 20+ yard gains instead of 5 or less....
evilbuffalobob Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 5) Other than his late hit, was Donte Whitner on the field tonight? All kidding aside, please fill me in if he was. I saw him blowing kisses into the stands.
CodeMonkey Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Watch that game again and you will see that the cheaters offense had a HORRIBLE game. Particularly the first half. Brady missing passes he normally makes in his sleep. Receivers dropping balls they generally catch in their sleep. That had nothing to do with our D. That being said, our D played well particularly when you consider how long they were on the field. The offense was dink-n-dunk again, but it was appropriate most of the time as the wide outs were doubled a lot. Even tho dink-n-dunk, I think AVP called a good game for his first time out. The O-Line did far better than I expected. Trent was throwing sidearm, shotput style, and every other weird way possible. He got the ball there but damn it looked ugly. Leodis .. what can you say. With the hands team out there I'm not sure why he would try and run it out. But he did, and it's over. If they didn't break your heart, they wouldn't be the Bills
Magox Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I disagree with a couple points. * Whitner was all over the field, all though he didn't have any pass breakups and I would of liked for him to have made a play on one of the last 2 TD's, he was a tackling machine, and alot of solo tackles were as if he hadn't of made them they could of been really costly. Whitner had a good game. * Bell showed that he could do the job, but also showed that he is still an inconsistant rookie. It's way too early Bill to make the call on this one. I say keep playing him, and he will only get better with time.

It's way too early Bill to make the call on this one. I say keep playing him, and he will only get better with time. This was my first time seeing Bell. He is fast and plays hard, but he doesn't even look like a blocker imo. I would love to know his actual weight. And, he obviously doesn't have a clue what he is doing out there. Maybe he can be hidden with the no-huddle, but holes like this kill teams, as if we needed something else to hurt us.
Ramius Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Thanks for reconfirming that you only see what you want to see Bill, and not what actually happened on the field.
Dark Fan Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 We wont be as good without him but i am actually pretty impressed with Buggs......he sells out when he tackles and gives it his all. Very physical. If Edwards doesn't @hit the bed this year I am actually for using that 1st round pick this next year on a DT to go alongside Stroud I fully believe Byrd was drafted to replace Whitner next year.....I know he had ten tackles but he just doesn't make any BIG plays......way too much for a high first round pick. Christ even Huff is starting to make plays here and there I think Wood AND Levitre are going to get better with every game and going into the offseason those positions will be set. How about the way Hangman played Wilfork? Passing over Ngata for Whitner was when I truly saw the light about the incompetence at OBD and started abandoning hope about this team.
THE GASH STATION Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 ??? I'd to hear some other thoughts on this. I watched the game without sound, and saw the several penalties but didn't get the impression Bell was a liability. For his first regular season appearance, on that stage, are we really capable of making such a harsh assessment? He doesn't have the typical pedigree of a starting LT and I'm sure he'll need to learn on the job -- but it seemed like a decent start. That is just Bill's homerism showing through for Jason Peters Pretty transparent Bill. You evaluate the guy on 1 game as a starter ? A MNF opener vs. the Patriots ??? Dude, your better than that.
John Adams Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Bell had 1 more penalty than Peters. And unlike Peters, he's fast as hell out there. Hopefully he can get some 'roid access and bulk up because he's got really skinny arms for a lineman. Whitner was his usual over-cocky self but he at least made a few plays. Whitner's game was OK, no better. I'd give him a B for the night. McKelvin's 2 fumbles are worrisome. You will now see people ripping at the ball right and left because he's suddenly got a rep. I look forward to seeing how AVP/Trent will adapt--teams are going to be ready for screens from now on. And I'm not sure if the line can pull off long enough pass protection for downfield routes. Last night, Trent did a great job of getting rid of the ball fast. I wonder what will happen if he gets a 7 step drop and holds the ball for a bit.
tennesseeboy Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 all of you naysayers are truly demonstrating yourselves to be the boobs that you are. The Patriots are lucky to have escaped with a win. If not for 1 critical error (McKelvin), this game was won by the Bills. The O-line was strong- particularly up the middle. Eric Wood is an ANIMAL! This has nothing to do with Jauron and everything to do with CORRECTABLE mistakes. McKelvin had 2 fumbles (1 critical), Bell had some learning-curve penalties (but also played better than expected- walker who?), and 3 different receivers had drive-killing drops (Jackson, Owens, and Evans) in the first half that could have resulted in points. The D-line is finally getting pressure to Brady AND without having to call blitzes as in the past. Kevin Williams, Aaron Schobel, and the crew were disruptive often and history has shown that that is the way to beat Brady. What about the tackling? I love Gruden's take on Reggie Corner chomping at the bit to take down Wes Welker. And how about the play-calling of AVP? Brady whined after the game that they did not play up to their level. Baloney! They got beat. If McKelvin stays in the end zone... ...I would take my chances with this offense last night to close out the game with 2:00 to go. Who cares about stats? The only stat I care about is the final score. And with the national media having a field day at the Bills expense (I don't know how the league can stand by and let 1 of its franchises be slandered like that over, and over, and over again) predicting wild 41-7 games, I think the Bills can walk away from this with their heads held high BECAUSE NOT ONLY DID THEY BEAT THE PATRIOTS, but they FINALLY SHOWED THAT THEY BELONG ON THE SAME FIELD. If they play like this for the rest of the season, I see 11-5 in their future. GO BILLS! I agree...if we can only lose all of our games like that we'll be 0-16! Losing is losing. We gotta go out there and win, against anyone...any time.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Thanks for reconfirming that you only see what you want to see Bill, and not what actually happened on the field. 'Zackly. Whitner played well last night.
Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 8) McKelvin isn't a bad player. He is simply another wasted pick by at least one douchebag. A wasted pick? Not exactly 9) How long I have I been posting here. 11 years? 12 years> I stake my reputation as a poster that Bell is a bag of s--t. He is weak, stupid, and never will be any good. I hope to be wrong, but it is evident. I am calling for Chambers right now. If you hope to be wrong, why would you "stake your repuatation" as a poster?
Coach Tuesday Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 If you hope to be wrong, why would you "stake your repuatation" as a poster? It wasn't Bill's best A Few Thoughts About the Game. Then again, Bill chose to forgo the entire preseason. That's what happens when you go soft during the preseason. Sound familiar?

wonderbread Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 While I know that you shouldn't blame the officials on the calls because ultimatley the team wins or loses as a result of its own actions. I saw several horrible spots last night. An extra foot here and extra foot there. On one occasion it was going to be 3rd and 1 and the ref actually moved the ball a full yard to give them a first down after the ball was spotted. Also some of the illegal formation calls on Bell were suspect as I watched the game replayed and paid close attention to it. I hate to say it but it felt as if the fix was on.
