thebandit27 Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 After further review, I believe SF would actually be making a good move if they re-drafted Crabtree next year, at a more advantageous draft position. That is, if they still like the kid and think he will be a great WR. Next year Crabtree will have no option but to sign, IMO. The 49ers will still have their guy, at much less $$. Possibly they will have a more humble version of the same guy, if he is made to sit out the 2009 season. But my gut tells me he signs this year. I'm fairly certain that--if they do not sign him--the 49ers cannot re-draft Crabtree next year. But I can't find the link on google.

I also tried to check it out (very briefly) and came up empty. Makes some sense, I guess. But maybe the 49ers could have another team draft him, and then trade his rights to them. There has to be a way.
