metzelaars_lives Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Put your money where your mouth is, stop whining and crying about the Bills' preseason ineptitude, go to sportsbetting.com, it's perfectly legal. They will give you 10% on top of what you open your account with (eg. you put in $250, your account value is immediately $275). It's only Pats -11, which isn't even really a blow out, take the Pats, make lots of money and thank me on Tuesday. They will send you a check in the mail whenever you want to withdraw funds, I've done it plenty of times they are very efficient. But for Christ sake, keep your negativity out of here until the game is played! You're welcome, Metz
CJPearl2 Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Already did. Have it with my book at -10.

Cugalabanza Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Already did. Have it with my book at -10. Just curious… doesn't it kind of ruin the experience of being a fan of a particular team when you are betting against them?
stuckincincy Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Just curious… doesn't it kind of ruin the experience of being a fan of a particular team when you are betting against them? Since you are curious - I bought my doomsday bottle of whiskey. See OTW.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Just curious… doesn't it kind of ruin the experience of being a fan of a particular team when you are betting against them? Hedging, amigo. hedging. I win, I'm happy, I have money. I lose, I'm happy. Bills win.

Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Better be careful there partner, what if the Bills lose by 7? What if? Dude, reality called. No way it's that close.
Hire-A-Real-GM/Coach Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 What if? Dude, reality called. No way it's that close. Yeah I must agree. Lifelong fan and would never bet against my team regularly, but this is easy money as far as I am concerned. I have a nice chunk (not life changing but quality spending loot) of change on NE -10 (got the early line). If the Bills somehow win or cover, I will gladly eat crow. But I plan to profit off this bottom feeder of a franchise. They will be embarassed, I will venture 45-17 or around that. The Pats dont let up either which is key from a betting standpoint if you have the favorite.

But for Christ sake, keep your negativity out of here until the game is played! You're welcome, Metz We have an offensive line with negative 6 NFL games experience We fired our O-coordinator 4 minutes before kickoff We hired a third string QB as our new ray of light Our starting RB is suspended for the first three games, which, as math will imply, includes the very first game Our backup RB got cut 4.5 minutes before kickoff Dick Jauron is still our Head Coach So I'm sorry, but I will not wear the rose-colored glasses. This isn't the buffalobills dot com message board. This is TBD. We're a bit more realistic. And the line I got was -11 and I bet $200. I would be thrilled to lose only if it was an outright win, but I'd feel safer betting on which body part on Trent ends his game rather that the Bills money line. Why can't people see it: The Bills Stink. We're not just making this up to upset you. And please save the "you're not a real fan". The fact that we're so upset with the handling of this team shows our fandom. Being a sheep and saying "YAY BILLS! We will beat the New England FREAKING Patriots! Go Bills!!! YAY!" isn't going to change the outcome. Every Major reporting website/newspaper/sportsbook has the Patriots as the favorites to win the Super Bowl. The Bills? Ranked only higher than Detroit. But YAY BILLS!
BuffaloBill Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I never bet on Bills game as it only adds to the agony if they lose and I lose my bet.

Hire-A-Real-GM/Coach Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I never bet on Bills game as it only adds to the agony if they lose and I lose my bet. and trust me if the Pats are -10 or less in Buffalo I will take the Pats again. There are certain games that have shown over the last 8+ years they cannot touch...I'd be curious what the Bills record against the spread was during that losing streak...My guess is the Pats covered 70% or more. I know last year that last game of season the bills may have covered....
Albany,n.y. Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Before anyone gets so confident that the Bills won't cover, last year the Bills were never in the game in NE. NE went up 20-3 and the Bills scored a meaningless touchdown to lose by 10. Also, NE is not that good on opening week. Here are the Patriots last 6 openers: 2008: Beat a dreadful KC team 17-10 after the Brady injury. 2007: Pound Jets 38-14 2006: Barely beat JP's Bills 19-17 2005: Beat Oakland 30-20 2004: Beat Indianapolis 27-24 2003: Lose to BILLS 31-0 They may have covered 2 of the last 6 openers-bettors beware.
Sen. John Blutarsky Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I've got a bet with my wife. Does that count? She's got Bills +10.5. if she wins I have to take her Cape May for her birthday. If I win we do whatever I choose. Given what Cape May costs That's about $200 on the line. I'm waiting for DE to get it's parlay situation straightened out.
crazyDingo Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Betting on the Bills to win or lose doesn't matter. They WILL find a way to rip out your heart. At least The Owner is amused by all this.

You "WIN" in the scenario where the Pats blow out the Bills and you try to tell your wife she doesn't get the birthday she wants? Good luck with that.

stevestojan Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 So if I was to put $1000.00 on the Pats* to cover and they did, how much would I win? Against the spread? Likely $900-$950 The Money line? $.47
IDBillzFan Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Just curious… doesn't it kind of ruin the experience of being a fan of a particular team when you are betting against them? I'm in at 10 1/2, and if I'm ever going to bet a Bills game it is only if I plan to take the other team and only when expect a Bills loss. Because face it, if I'm pretty sure we're going to lose, how much would I pay to be wrong? Fifty bucks? A hundred? Plus, if I'm wrong, it typically means they won. Works for me. Plus, it's not like losing to NE* would surprise me or disappoint me. So what's the worst that can happen? The Bills lose by less than 10 1/2 and I lose twice. Doesn't matter to me because even though I recognize that betting on sports is generally a waste of money, I only bet what I'm willing to part with, so it's not like I'm sitting at home, watching the Bills lose to yet another team on MNF with yet another last-second field goal and say "Holy crap, not only did my team just lose again, but I can't pay my mortgage." After a while, the Bills losing, especially to NE*, just becomes an expected outcome.
