SDS Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 It's one thing to have your computer crash. It's another to have it crash in front of thousands of sports fans. This latest humiliation took place Saturday at the pre-game festivities for the Oklahoma/Brigham Young gameat the at the brand new $1.15 billion Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Reader Jeff tells us that they had a breakdown on the scoreboard screens: first, the screens went blank, then displayed some odd ASCII gibberish, then announced to the assembled crowd that things weren't going so well in Microsoft land. Jeff was there with his trusty iPhone to capture the moment for us, and we present it to you on this day when you're not working, either. http://www.tuaw.com/2009/09/07/offensive-l...-oklahoma-game/
Lt. Dan's Revenge Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Hilarious. One would think that if you're going to invest $1 billion + into a stadium like this you wouldn't have to worry about punts hitting the jumbotron or error readings streaming across the stadium for the world to see.
Steely Dan Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 http://www.tuaw.com/2009/09/07/offensive-l...-oklahoma-game/ Shoulda bought a Mac.
RayFinkle Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 The only thing better would be if the screens went blank after being hit by a punt.

stuckincincy Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 http://www.tuaw.com/2009/09/07/offensive-l...-oklahoma-game/ During the OU game broadcast, there was some "facts" displayed about the screens. - It uses "30,000 lightbulbs". - It weighs 1.2 million pounds (that's 600 tons). I'm skeptical...
\GoBillsInDallas/ Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 On an unrelated note, Jay Rosen was nowhere to be found on this board over the weekend. Coincidence? You be the judge.
KD in CA Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 The only thing better would be if the screens went blank after being hit by a punt. Or to have screen saver mode click on and have a 'Jerry Jones Sucks' message flash up there.
Jim in Anchorage Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 The only thing better would be if the screens went blank fell down after being hit by a punt.
SDS Posted September 8, 2009 Author Posted September 8, 2009 Or to have screen saver mode click on and have a 'Jerry Jones Sucks' message flash up there. I think JJ should have fun with it and flash "TILT! TILT! TILT!" on the monitors when it is hit.

BillsWatch Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Add to that the problems the Cowpokes have had with their training center with substandard workmanship Jerry Jones is not a happy.
Fingon Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Shoulda bought a Mac. Agreed. A spinning beach ball is much more fascinating to look at.
