PromoTheRobot Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 We took the plunge and got a Mitsubishi HDTV this weekend. Great picture most of the time but I notice that I see some distortions like a halo around objects or people when the move across the background. What's going on? Can this be corrected with an adjustment? Or did I just by a crappy TV? This is more noticable when I'm watching a non-HD show. When its a full HD production it looks fabulous. PTR
WellDressed Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Turn down contrast, sharpness (and brightness a tad too.) Also is this a DLP set?? What is the actual scrren size??
DaGimp Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 If it's LCD it can be motion blur. Sometimes it can be source related or it could just be you need to make some tweaks to the TV settings. Also, the "quality" of the set can make a difference.

PTR Looks like your answer right there. Non-HD programming looks like crap on HDTV's. Some channels are worse then others. You'll get used to it.
PromoTheRobot Posted September 8, 2009 Author Posted September 8, 2009 It's a 40" Mitsubishi with the built-in sound bar. Here's another surprise...the sound does not sync with the video! Very small difference on some channels, bigger on others. Okay, what causes that? PTR
