Sisyphean Bills Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Maybe they are evaluating based on merit rather than seniority. That's a step in the right direction.
Nanker Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 The Pats* will pick him up no doubt in the vain hope he'll be able to tell them AVP's super-secret NewenGland game plan.
Max997 Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 He hasn't looked good. Hard to believe the guy once started for the mighty Colts. That muffed punt he had pissed me off. When Lynch comes back, someone has to go. Either him or Omon. why would a muffed punt in the preseason by a guy that had no shot at returning punts piss you off?
apuszczalowski Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 It must mean Fred Jackson is good to go, or else they have found someone better in FA/waivers DJ did say before the last Preseason game that no one was safe, and that if they found someone better on waivers/FA, they wouldn't be against cutting someone to replace them. Rhodes wasn't too impressive, Oman did look pretty good at times. Seems like the front office knows that its do or die this year. Turk already gone, Rhodes cut, Simpson traded to Detroit.......
Maddog69 Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 The move makes no sense to me. Lynch is out the first 3 games, Jackson is nursing a sore wrist, Omon has not impressed anyone. You gotta keep Rhodes, especially with Edwards as your QB, Rhodes is a great check down receiver. I am surprised by the move as well. Rhodes really showed nothing in preseason, but with Lynch out for 3weeks and Freddy banged up, I thought they would keep the veteran backup atleast until Beastmode is reinstated. I would bet they plan on grabbing somebody off waiver who can play HB/FB so they can dump Mcintyre. Or they will let Corey be the backup HB. The did give him a lot of looks in preseason. Who knows. It sure looks like another curious move by a messed up organization. 1 Bills Drive is starting to made Raider nation look smart.
Jamie Nails Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 2 of our 5 free agent pickups have been cut. Hoping they don't cut TO, I already bought a jersey
TimGraham Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/...-dominic-rhodes
Anzaloha Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 rhodes has a sb ring. he got in a fight in camp == showed some motivation to win finally for a bill... rhodes is a GREAT pass catcher. He is also a great blitz blocker. apparently, they want to keep a few extra WRs -- and guys who can play ST. So thats why you keep him, because he has a SB ring and got in a fight at camp? LOL
Beerball Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/...-dominic-rhodes Sources inform me it has been a tense day so far at One Bills Drive and that other surprises might be in the offing. Oh boy...
Stussy109 Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Wow!!! Omon must have made quite an impression on the coaching staff. Omon looked like a beast at times. Looked better than any other Rb this preseason.
Guest dog14787 Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/...-dominic-rhodes Thanks Tim, I get the feeling we may be in for some more surprises.
Beerball Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Omon looked like a beast at times. Looked better than any other Rb this preseason. If he can't block better than he's shown the QBs better watch out.
Warren Zevon Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Thanks Tim, I get the feeling we may be in for some more surprises. Bye Kelsay!
spartacus Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Wow!!! Omon must have made quite an impression on the coaching staff. before Turk left, they got him to provide his cut list
Coach Klein Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 I liked XO since the moment we drafted him. I know he only played D-II but his numbers were unreal. It was obvious he had talent and i think that showed this preseason. Was not impressed by Rhodes however I'm still confused by this move.
Arkady Renko Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Shaud Williams and Anthony Thomas are still available.
spartacus Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Looks like they swallowed his $300,000 bonus. John Guy strikes again having a high profile not even make the regular season roster is a new low even for him
transient Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Probably looking to keep some younger guys with promise as opposed to older stop-gap players. May also mean that both Ellis and Bryan make it, and we rely more on our defense than an offense that is unlikely to get much help from a few fringe players. Looking long term season, instead of short term first 3 games.
Arkady Renko Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Why cut one of the few guys who reached the end zone?
