Steely Dan
Good thing he's on Medicare or that would've been expensive. Don't throw two punches if you don't want some kind of retaliation. Dude got what he deserves. I hope he doesn't consider himself a Christian because he's not even close. JMO "The heroes are in Afghanistan and Iraq" He's for God and country!! Just like all people who oppose healthcare reform he's a patriot, not like the commie country hating people who believe the healthcare system is shot and needs reform. "In my heart I don't think this has anything to do with healthcare. This is something much more devious than healthcare. I think healthcare is how we are being diverted while the government grabs what's left of our freedom." I think it's nothing more than a diversion. I think it's what they have us arguing about while they do something else." "Freedom is not free" They really want as a spokesman against healthcare? I think if he would have been able to continue speaking Ruby Ridge, Waco, Communism, Stalin, Hitler, The second ammendment, The elves that leave potato's on his stoop, the loss of real God fearing American's and how his padded room is too stuffy would've come up. So he believes this is a diversion to get us to argue while they do something else. If you don't argue then you can spend more time working to send your secret gnomes into the Whitehouse to find out the real evil plot. I hope Cavuto is pro healthcare reform because this guy should make rational people become pro healthcare if they aren't now. JMO

DC Tom
Becuase those lib arguments about "nobody should die for being denied health care" and all the other Obullshit going around is rational. I believe I've already mentioned someone tried to argue "Everybody has a right to not die" with me. "Nobody should die for being denied health care" would be a step up in rationality. blzrul
Unless you're under 65 of course. and have the misfortune to have a pre-existing condition. my brother's wife was denied healthcare benefits for the birth of their first child because she admitted she was pregnant when they married...my husband has type i diabetes through not fault of his own, which costs us thousands in OOP annually even WITH healthcare.... ah those pre-existing conditions, great reasons to deny coverage to people who pay into their healthcare plans. Obama's error in all this is letting the rumors and misinformation go too far. There are NO plans for the feds to own all the hospitals, hire all the doctors, and manage the whole freakin thing. There is plenty of room for improvement in the current system that will benefit people who would otherwise fall thru the cracks. There is a great article in this morning's Seattle Times that discusses how local fire departments are more and more being used as "mobile emergency rooms" by people who have no healthcare options. The particular FD discussed spends 80% of its time on these sorts of calls. Multiply that out, even at lower percentages, and there's a cost that could be at least partially recovered. Show me a system - any system - that couldn't benefit from overhaul every so often. Things change and failing to adapt is, well, failure. The refusal to discuss options and focus instead on spreading misinformation and fear is politically motivated and just damned stupid. Sitting down together to have rational discussions would be beneficial to everyone i the long run.

IDBillzFan
Obama's error in all this is letting the rumors and misinformation go too far. There are NO plans for the feds to own all the hospitals, hire all the doctors, and manage the whole freakin thing. There is plenty of room for improvement in the current system that will benefit people who would otherwise fall thru the cracks. I agree with this, except what a lot of conservatives are arguing is that you can improve the current system WITHOUT the only option being a government-run option. I mentioned this before: no one argues that health care reform is needed. Saying you support health care reform is like saying you support the troops. No schitt, Sherlock. But there are no discussions in HR3200 for tort reform, or opening up national competition, two simple things that will not cost billions in taxpayer dollars, and things that many argue WILL reduce health care costs quickly. That is nothing new. For as long as I can remember, fire departments almost always head out to accident scenes and, if they're the first to arrive, they begin treatment to the injured. Now, I would think it's strange if the FD is responding to a 911 call for a heart attack victim who doesn't have health care, but it beats the hell out of making a woman in labor walk to the hospital because she didn't arrange for transportation earlier in her pregnancy. Magox
Ya, "nobody should die for being denied health care" This is all over Facebook now. I tried having a rational discussion with a couple of them yesterday and that right there was my first mistake, trying to have a "rational" discussion. This girl wrote : I will die without health care, and I am broke because I am sick. I am currently paying almost $500 a month for insurance under HIPAA. I was summarily rejected by Medical despite my low income and dependence on six medications which would cost hundreds of dollars monthly without insurance. Yes, I party hard. But I would rather die living than live dying I responded: I'm sorry to hear that. Costs are getting crazy, it's those damn lawyers, and all those medical claims that are driving up costs. Doctors are so freaking afraid of getting sued, that they will give a CAT scan to anyone who asks for one. now, most of my friends live out in California, and most of them are "hippies" you can say, so of course they are liberal as hell, and holy sh--! The response I got from my comment was ummm. Retarded? Like: We need the public option or we won't be able to have health care. was one of them. Another was : Mateo, it's not the lawyers, its the health insurance companies that are driving up prices Mateo is my name btw. Then there was : Jesus, Anne, this is horrible -- & unfortunately all too common a story in the US ... :-( ... so sorry to hear this ... take care, dear ... I wish I could do something to help ... :-( ... @ Mateo -- you really should do a little research on the whole medical situation in this country ... here's a start ... http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/Th...80799112?ref=ts ... Anne, take care, sweetie ... :-( ... and my favorite one was : Mateo, are you suggesting that doctors shouldn't give Cat Scans? People think that Obama want's to ration health care, do you? I should of known that I was going to get this response from some of my friends, I don't talk politics with them, because I know if I do, I will most likely begin to dislike them Last time I ever talk to them about this, I'll just stick to music and "other stuff". but it goes to show you that it's not just the "right" who are uninformed about this Health Plan, but the "Left" as well. Of course people don't know what the outcome will be, this is not a 1 + 1 = 2 problem and solution. There are many variables that are being clustered and it is like a cocktail of a bunch of unknowns, and none of us know what the outcome will be.
