I'm gonna enjoy the season to the best of my ability anyways, but this is what's coming. A new 3 year "plan" along with a guy with the largest contract in team history who hasn't even played a down in the NFL. Preseason or not, I don't see how anybody can still be high on Trent. For all my fellow draft geeks, follow those coolege QB's and post often. BillInNYC, don't worry, my mock draft will include a first day lineman on one or even both sides of the ball, but when you are most likely picking in the top 10, "you don't pass on a franchise QB unless you already have one" will hold true. I also don't see any potential Paces, Jones, or Ogdens in this class (yet) so a lineman will have to wait a round. WooooooooHooooooooo!!!!! Another rebuilding plan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;)

Will Tebow be a great NFL QB?

The Bills would never pay for Tebow...and will end up trading down with their high 1st rounder next year.

Get TEBOW.

Do you think Tebow falls to #11? Or you have reason other than preseason results to think that this team is substantially worse than last year's team. I look up and down the roster and don't think that our LT downgrade and loss of Greer outweigh our improved guards, more experienced QB, addition of an HOF receiver, addition of a 1st round pass rush specialist, addition of Schobel for the final 10 games at least on paper, additional experience for our very young defense who except for Stroud should all be on the upswing of their career getting a year more familiar with the defensive scheme.

I would love to be pessimistic and join the sky is falling crowd, because it seems kind of a fun way to kill time during the preaseason, but I just don't see the substance of why this team is dramatically worse than last year.

Sure the schedule could shape up harder (but you NEVER know going in, and I don't buy the BS valuations of the 2010 schedule based on 2009 performances...too early). Sure other injuries could happen. Sure Walker and then Bell could prove a complete disaster at LT (although I doubt both will be that bad). But right now I think this team is stronger than last year, despite the frustrating preseason performance, and despite the likely butt kicking we will receive in Foxboro as we drop to 0-1.

You are all wrong. The new CBA will include a rookie pay scale. AKA this is the best season in NFL history to hold the number one pick. At least Buffalo wins something this year!

PS I want Carlos Dunlop, DE FLorida. 6-6, 290 and the next Mario Williams/Julious Peppers. One of the QBs Bradford/McCoy/Snead/Tebow WILL fall into the second round. None of them impress me enough for the top 5 pick I am expecting.

There are 4 or possibly 5 QB's that will all go in the 1st round next year. Bradford, McCoy, Snead, Robinson, and Tebow are all likely candidates. Tebow is on the bottom of that list as a passer. I would like to have McCoy or Bradford though, but the pice will likely be high.

Actually Thoner7 we are probably all wrong. Bills will probably do just enough to miss out on a blue chipper like Dunlop, who I agree, would be an awesome player to get. I'm very excited about a rookie pay scale, but again, we'll probably pick 8-12th, and miss out on a franchise caliber player. I also agree with not being sold on any of the QB's as top 5 picks (although at least one of em' will get taken there regardless). Tebow is just to much of an unknown taken out of Florida's system, Bradford looks like he'll get broken in half, and I just don't know if I can cheer for a guy f**kin' named Colt. F**kin' rednecks I swear! As for Snead, he is a big strong armed QB who just happens to suck at playing QB. Pray a Drew Brees situation emerges in free agency folks..........and of course the new coach pulls the trigger.

What do you base that on?

I have no idea...But I'm willing to hand the keys over to Him no problem...I think those who prefer McCoy or Bradford will see in time that Tebow will not be denied...I think He's the next Steve Young...But I'm always wrong so...

I agree with most of the ideas in the thread, but am kinda looking forward to it.

I think there will be a rookie salary pool structured like the NBA, so getting a top 5 pick will not be bad for the Bills. There is always a QB hype going into the draft, regardless of skill. Overall, I see a new 3 year plan, a top 3 pick, and pry Sam Bradford as the Bills new QB.

Now, no part of me hopes this happens, but based off what we've seen so far, it looks more and more likely. Yes, I know it's preseason and we aren't running schemes. But, pass rush and offensive line play isn't a scheme, it's a talent and we are getting pushed around. It also doesn't help when the OC and QB are already calling each other out. At this rate, we won't need TO to ruin the locker room.

Unless there is a miracle, I see Fitz getting a start by week 6 and DJ fired midseason.

The Bills are going to have to pay for someone and Tebow may be the man. There are knocks on Tebow but he wins games and wills his team to victory. He is a leader. I was against him early on, but if he has another year like he has had you are going to have to take a very long look at his body of work.

if the wheels fall off this year. thats the only logical way to sell it to the fans again. Probably wont be another TO situation. Jauron will have to go and a franchise player(s) will need to be drafted

but I just don't see the substance of why this team is dramatically worse than last year.

Well, its simple. Trent Edwards was concussed vs Cards. He has not recovered, and i will state that he will NEVER recover, IMO. He cant/wont stand in the pocket. He checks down almost immediately. Since the injury he has thrown less than 10 yard passes almost 75% of the time I believe.

SOOOOO, if you carry out the 3-9 since the injury last year to this year, i get 4-12 this year.

see, simple.

We need a QB.
