Mr. Dink Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I'm sticking with the obvious and concluding that our team, from top to bottom, is incompetent.
silvermike Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Maybe they think the yardlines are in base 8.
Mark Vader Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I think they are just playing like it's practice.
spartacus Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 because when they practice indoors all the time, the field is not long enough to allow longer patterns
crazyDingo Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Some confusion with the Metric conversion they will be using in Toronto.
Max997 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 because their thinking is you run short passes and get up to the line quickly for the next play...this is how Marv ruined the no huddle when Marchibroda left to be the head coach in Indy
billsfan714 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Eight yard outs? A lot of em looked like 2-3 yard outs. An eight yard out Trent going long.
BillsVet Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Hey...it's Turk Schonert's call to make those plays. He watches film 80 hours a week AND he knew Bill Walsh. No one should be criticizing him. NO ONE.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I thought the same thing. No slants, no crosses, no deep passes. Every play to a receiver, back, or TE seemed to be a curl or hitch. I have a feeling that some receivers were running other routes, but Trent was missing them.
K-9 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 You mean until Fitz and the 2nd team come in and the routes called are completely different? GO BILLS!!!
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 You mean until Fitz and the 2nd team come in and the routes called are completely different? GO BILLS!!! Were the routes different then, or did Fitz just hit his receivers and Trent didn't?
K-9 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Were the routes different then, or did Fitz just hit his receivers and Trent didn't? Different play calls entirely. GO BILLS!!!
FreakPop Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Maybe Trent needs glasses and can't really tell between his receivers and the DBs after 10 yards so Turk calls for 8 yard plays.
colin Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 i'm not happy about our starting O at all, but the chicken little sht is getting out of hand. multiple plays called directly toward parrish, one single pass to evans, no slants, no drags, and while trent sucked the WRs blew -- they were not getting their head around, they weren't fighting to come back to the ball, nothing. i think evans reed and parrish together are a horrible mix. they are just too small and too unphysical. you will notice we barely did anything to the TEs against pittz, and ran no screens. i think it's clear we will be running those in the regular season. oh, the biggest thing i did learn is that our 3rd and 4th string RBs can't block the world champion league leading pass rush.
High Mark Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Hell if I was a WR I wouldnt run any pattern deeper than 8 yards because Trent wont throw you the ball.
Mr. Dink Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 oh, the biggest thing i did learn is that our 3rd and 4th string RBs can't block the world champion league leading pass rush. Omon getting flattened definitely summed up the night.
LGB Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 the Bills must be saving their best stuff for the regular season...
apuszczalowski Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Because Trent isn't comfortable/can't throw a decent pass that far
