Big Turk Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 His play is totally embarrassing. He is afraid to throw the ball more than 5 yards down the field. He has time to throw and still won't throw it. Even when he throws the ball downfield he throws it out of bounds. The games will be over at halftime if he continues playing like this...
silvermike Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I don't think a benching is going to help his confidence. He needs a QB coach.
Mark Vader Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I wonder how much confidence Fitzpatrick would have, after the way the O-Line has played lately.
McBeane Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 At least Fitz will throw the ball around the first down marker, you know, the magic little line that lets you stay on the field. I say name him the starter, he has some balls!
sven233 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 It's funny..... Coming into tonight, I was SURE that Edwards was going to come out throwing it deep down the field. He had been taking heat all week long for checking down every play and not challenging the defense down the field and I was certain he was going to come out and try to prove a point. Well, he proved a point......he is Captain Checkdown and that is just what he is. He is scared to throw the ball down the field and we are going to get run off the field this season. Owens is going to be yelling at him in Week 1 and I have a feeling we will all be yelling along with him.
McBeane Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Oh, and BillyMays, I have season tickets in section 308, sure ill see you at some point throughout the year!
Rayzer32 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I don't think a benching is going to help his confidence. He needs an entire new coaching staff. Fixed
Buffal0 Bill5 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I don't think a benching is going to help his confidence. He needs a QB coach. I was wondering to myself tonight if AVP is part of the problem.
FluffHead Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Oh, and BillyMays, I have season tickets in section 308, sure ill see you at some point throughout the year! cool. I'll be the guy in the Zubaz pants and either a Whitner throwback or Owens home jersey.
Georgia Bill Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 The deer in the headlights look - I've seen it before. Was it the Browns last year in a night game? It was painful to watch, so incredibly tentative/afraid, I felt sorry for him, but more sorry for the fans who had high expectations that night. Is he toast?
billfan63 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I wonder how much confidence Fitzpatrick would have, after the way the O-Line has played lately.about as much as JP had
McBeane Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 And I'll either be in my blue throwback Poz jersey or my white throwback TO one.
silvermike Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I was wondering to myself tonight if AVP is part of the problem. AVP's a guy who might work out pretty well someday, but he's not up to coaching up a young QB who needs to learn the ropes. Especially if the OC is a turd like Schonert or, previously, Fairchild. If we had a star OC who was really the QB specialist, I think AVP would be worthwhile. But we need someone on this staff who can coach a fugging QB.
Acantha Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Before today I would have laughed at anyone saying bench Edwards. As of now, I'm on board. And I can't believe I feel that way.
jwws9999 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I wonder how much confidence Fitzpatrick would have, after the way the O-Line has played lately. actually, i was surprised how well the o line was doing tonight. i thought harrison was going to kill trent
Big Turk Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 I wonder how much confidence Fitzpatrick would have, after the way the O-Line has played lately. the OLine was fine tonite...jesus christ, sometimes you just don't have 10 seconds to throw the ball to a guy 2 yards away...

FluffHead Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 And I'll either be in my blue throwback Poz jersey or my white throwback TO one. I'll shout at ya if I see you. Except that may never happen because the way this pre season has looked, I am going to have to get blackout drunk at every home game to deal with this schit.
