If the Bills do land in the top 5. They will almost certainly pick up a DT who will anchor the line until 2020+. Love the dude from Nebraska and McCoy from Oklahoma

Exactly. Another draft like this years: OL & DL early and often. We could use OT, DT, DE.

Of course it will all be useless if Jauron is retained.

I think I have my eye on McCoy. I was thinking Tebow was the wildcard here. Aren't many people saying that he is the big question mark for NFL ready play. Either way, I will be watching QBs very closely this year on the college level.

Get Tebow. Sell Dick Jauron's Grandmother's dentures, mortgage The Ralph, rob 10 banks....but GET TEBOW. The more he slides because of shortsighted nincompoops yapping about "pocket qb" and "throwing motion" and other drivel (the same nincompoops by the way, who turned their noses up at Joe Montana but went all looney tunes over Rick Mirer), the better it is for the Bills to do whatever is necessary to trade up and GET TEBOW.

I will have a conniption fit, the likes of which has never been seen on this earthly veil, if the Bills do not do everything in their power to GET TEBOW.

Bucs and Rams are possible, either could finish below the bills.

Tebow is not an NFL quarterback. I would hope for Sam Bradford to put up another outrageous season to show he's got the goods, or some other great college QB

You are dead wrong about Tebow. Stay tuned.

If the cynicism were based on only a few preseason games, it would be silly but the truth is, there is a lot more to base our worries on than these glorified scrimmages. Our pessismism is also based on the reality of how they finished the season last year, the reality that they are taking no less than 5 gambles on the offensive line and that their top pick missed all of camp. Add in the departure of Peters and Marshawn's suspension and there are plenty of reasons for people to be legitimately worried about this year. The preseason games could have helped to calm those fears but instead, they have exacerbated them.

Certainly, you can spin each one of those factors into something positive but just as certainly, reasonable minds can legitimately cite them as a rational basis for being very concerned that this simply is not our year. So please don't characterize everyone who sees this as something other than a playoff year as being negative nancys or nervous nellies foolishly overreacting to the preseason games.

You don't have to agree that this will be a difficult year but allow us the courtesy to disagree without being insulted by our fellow fans. Perhaps you have never, in the history of being a fan of this team, expressed concern about a player, a coach or a front office decision but if you have, you should understand the current view by many that, though we hope otherwise, this is more likely to be a tough year than a playoff year.

Holy crap. The voice of reason magically appears on TBD out of nowhere!

I salute you!

You haven't been harsh, but you haven't refuted anything... I haven't rididculed anyone, saying there are 8 positions where the bengals need help before QB is far from ridicule...you're just emotionally invested witih the bengals and can't see their flaws

Benson will show why he was let go in the first place, particularly running behind that line.

Coles has definitely lost a step, and Johnson has to turn it around this year or he's nothing more than a scrap heap part

The bengals had fewer sacks last year than the bills, and the bills were the #14 defense in the league. There's nobody anywhere that would say that that represents a complete defensive squad. Carson Palmer is a very good QB playing behind a very bad Offensive line. You could have johnny unitas behind that line and it wouldn't matter. I will bet you any amount you want that the Bengals will not be drafting a QB of the future barring another season ending injury to carson.

Oh, I can clearly see their flaws. I'm not emotionally invested with them, I'm financially invested to the tune of a half-cent sales tax levy for Brown's free pleasure palace, and a likely property tax increase around the corner to service the stadium bond debt.

Actually, historically I've had a pretty good idea about who they draft, and why.

I certainly didn't mean to imply that their owner/president/GM is shooting for spending a #1 or a #2, or even a #3 next year (unless Brown perceives yet another "bargain" - see this year's #6 overall pick). But I can see a #4. A "QB of the future" doesn't necessarily have to be drafted in the upper rounds.

Much as I dislike to (once again - forgive me folks) put up this old link, the fact is that for the 2nd year in a row, injuries have bedeviled them. Scroll down...

I can't exactly say why they have all these injuries, but I'm willing to entertain the idea that the Lord doesn't like Mikey.

8 out of the 12 teams that made the playoffs last year were the healthiest teams...it's gotta tell ya something...wow

It sure does.

Some folks hold the opinion that the owners are the force behind the 53 man roster, and the 45 (whatever the number is) game dress rule. I feel it is the NFLPA that forged it, and the currently employed players, to keep wages high. They are an odd union - most unions desiring to increase membership, not restrict it.

So when injuries hit, the well isn't as deep as it was in times past.
