I'm trying to remember, but it was a couple years ago they told me I had to pay a monthly subscriber/access fee of like $5 a mo. to keep the account active during offseason, but in return I wouldn't have to subscribe to any packages. On opening day last season, I hadn't had my boxes on in a while and I discovered that DTV had switched to the new Generation boxes. I spent 1/2 the game on the phone, and in the end they sent 2 Free boxes as long as I agreed to keep the same programming for 2 years.
