Bmwolf21 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Hi career is done. If I'm not mistaken, he's a senior. That's what it looks like: Coach Turner Gill announced Tuesday that tests revealed Starks has a labral tear in his shoulder that requires surgery. Starks is a fifth-year senior and will not have any college eligibility left. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/story/12111268 Who is going to step up in his absence?

Thermilous is pretty darn good.
duey Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 What a shame, both for him and them. At least from a pro career standpoint this shouldn't hurt him (well, he'll get drafted later because he won't have a senior season). I'm so disappointed. This changes the whole dynamic of this team.
DPR4444 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 can he be red-shirted? i guess he can't because he was already red-shirted previously?
JM57 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 i guess he can't because he was already red-shirted previously? he may be able to apply for a medical redshirt, and thus a 6th year of eligibility. i doubt he would ever get it though
PromoTheRobot Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 UB's website says Starks cannot get a medical redshirt because he was redshirted already for non-medical reasons. I suppose they could always ask for a waiver but I doubt they'll get one. As bad as it is for UB this injury will cost Starks millions in the draft. Kiper had him slotted as a first day pick. Now he'll be lucky to get drafted at all. I hope the Bills pick him up. PTR
