Wacka
Link Glenn Beck has lost another advertiser. Geico and Lawyers.com stopped advertising on Beck's show after he called President Barack Obama "a racist" on a July 28 episode of Fox and Friends. A spokeswoman for GMAC Financial Services told TVGuide.com on Monday that the company has "ceased to advertise on the Glenn Beck Program," though she would not say why. Link GMAC Financial Services joins a growing list of advertisers who have recently abandoned Beck's television show, including ConAgra, Roche, Sanofi-Aventis, RadioShack, Men’s Wearhouse, State Farm Sargento, LexisNexis-owned Lawyers.com, Procter & Gamble, and Progressive Insurance. X. Benedict
Boycotting is a two way street, and with these companies bowing down to the threats of an organization founded by an unapologetic communist they will quickly find out that there are many more Americans who care more about things like capitalism and free speech than they do of the President's hurt feelings. You wait and see the counter boycott backlash that's about to hit these companies once the public becomes aware of Obama's communist green czar (and fellow radical buddy) behind the boycott. I'd love to see what a counter-boycott letter looks like. Post it if you see a good one.
Ramius
I'd love to see what a counter-boycott letter looks like. Post it if you see a good one. The so-called "counter boycott" might actually work, considering there is a high degree of overlap between your typical beck listener and your typical wal-mart shopper. billsfan89
And there are a lot of fans of Beck (more than are against him) telling advertisers that they will boycott them if they pull their ads from Beck's show. True and its his fans right to try to keep a product they like on the air. Like I said the group boycotting Becks sponsors is doing it the right way unlike the whole Don Imus situation where they just wanted him fired out right. Dear Walmart, It has come to my attention that you no longer advertise on the Glen Beck show do to charges that he is a race-baiter. Do not cave to the demands of your racially oversensitive customers, and please continue to support Glenny or I will buy my Chinese stuff somewhere else. Love, Augustus P. Riechhammer PS. 1billsfan
I'd love to see what a counter-boycott letter looks like. Post it if you see a good one. Dear Walmart, Middle America...you know, the capitalist loving people who buy up all of your stupid crap?...will start going back to your stores when you stop taking marching orders from communist loving radicals like Van Jones. Signed, John Q. Public PS. Obama won't shop at Walmart because it's not unionized so why do you even give a flying fck what his commie buddy thinks? Also, Obama's spiritual leader of 20 years was a racist, his remarks about the cops were racist (reverse racism is still racism) and his frank talk in San Francisco about people clinging to their God and guns was clearly directed at "whitey". Glen Beck had every right to give an opinion that he thinks the man is a racist.

1billsfan
He was born in Nigeria too, don't forget. I really don't care were Obama was born. But if someone wants to call him a racist, he has certainly given them the opportunity through his past associations and comments. Another thing is that Obama dismissed the philly black panther voter intimidation case. Looking at these things by themselves and you can say it's nothing big, but you start putting them all together and you really have to wonder about Obama's opinion of white people. I have yet to hear a good reason why he stayed in that church for 20 years.

StupidNation
Since only white people can be racists, let's forget that MSNBC just 2 weeks ago said that the word "socialism" is a code word for n*gger. Yeah, the outcry was huge over that, and the media coverage was extensive. Blacks can call us racist, but don't ever call a black man racist, then people care. If anything I hope this makes people realize that it's about time we shouldn't care about labels and fight back.
billsfan89
The good thing about Don Imus being fired was that he was replaced by Joe Scarborough. Scarborough is a good guy in my view I just didn't like the fact that he got fired out right for saying that. To me that's censorship its one thing to orchestrate a boycott that leads to a guy getting fired but to get a company to just out right pull the plug because a bunch of people asked them to, to me that creates a element of fear and mob tactics that are unfair and not productive to the first amendment. 1billsfan
You mean like by being raised his entire life by three white people? Yet he wrote a book called Dreams of My Father. I didn't read it, but it's said that his Mom is barely mentioned in that book. Where's the book on the impact his Mother and Grandparents had on his life? Wacka
It might have been written by William Ayers. They ran the book through the program that looks for plagerised term papers and it found that there was a good chance that Ayers wrote it.

PearlHowardman
...my already plesant Sunday morning nicely. Like we all believe that! Tell you what, below linked is the NY Times blog re: Van Jones resignation. By comment 30 the words "incompetence" and (questioning) "competence" are being used against President Obama FOUR TIMES. I stopped reading after that. http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/09...page=1#comments The bloggers at this site are not the only people using the word "incompetent" re: Barack Obama. The Republicans are slipping it into conversations all over the news. And when Obama's disastrous health care plan crashes this week expect them to use it a lot more. Eight months into the Obama presidency and he's already being called incompetent! That's even worse than George Bush at his four year mark!
