billybob Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I still think the Bills could go 10-6 and make the playoffs where they will be crushed but at least Buffalo gets to be part of the national conversation for a couple weeks- now for the bad news, it will take Juron playing the best 53 in their best positions even if it disturbs his comfort level- probably won't happen.

reddogblitz Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I still think the Bills could win the division. We're tied for first right now with only 16 games to go! Go BILLS !!

You're just like that teacher we all had in high school who on the first day said "everyone here is getting a 100 right now" I poop on your optimism.

I don't want to burst your bubble but the Bills are not a good team. More importantly the organization is dysfunctional. This western NY team has been consistently bad for a decade. The owner of the Bills is clueless. John Guy and Tom Modrak have been in the front office during the past losing decade. The HC is a decent fellow but as a HC he is in over his head. Last year when the owner gave him an extension the organization was hesitant and even delayed informing the public that he received an extension because they were embarrassed about it. The team finished the season 2-8, and their record against divisional opponents was 0-6. The person who presently heads the organization is very accomplished in the marketing side of the team, but has little knowledge about football. The Bills are much more likely to go 6-10 than 10-6. Even if they did go 10-6 it still wouldn't be good enough to get into the playoffs. The Bills are an irrelevant team in the NFL. What the Pittsburgh Pirates are to major league baseball the Bills are to the NFL.

I love the Sabres too, and do not see them as anywhere near as inept as the Bills, but, they also were playing golf and not hockey, week one of the nhl playoffs

What have you seen that can possibly support this optimism? This is a rerun of last year's preseason except our regular schedule was cake last year. 4 wins if we get lucky, 6 wins will be a great season for these players. If we win one divisional game we will be lucky.
BuffaloBlood Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 The Bills will be 7-9 just learn to live with it.

BuffaloBlood Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 You are optimistic. Fool me once shame on you............
billybob Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 first to any who say I have optimism, I say screw you take back, I'm very insulted Now let me make the case for a possibility of 10-6 1. we have seen Reed as the #2 WR two games in a row and we know from last year that sucks - to have any chance we need Reeds role to be no more than the slot receiver in a three WR set. 2. The O-line has been horribly mismanaged, to have a chance Walker needs to be moved back to RT, Butler to Guard at least to Levitra knows what he's doing and Bell to LT 3. Marshawn needs to lose some of that weight I don't care what Chris Brown says he looks sluggish. 4. Schouman and Fine do nothing well enough to start - the base lineup should be T.O. Nelson, Stupar, Evans, Jackson until Lynch comes back 5. Schobel and Kelsay have to be cut, Denney can play in rotation with Ellis, Bryan, Maybin and Mace 6. Nick Harris starts end of story 7. The DTs are Stroud, Williams, McCargo, Jones sorry Mr Johnson but I'm limited each position to one hustle try hard guy and that's Williams 8. Byrd better start or anyone who had anything to do with that pick should lose all rights to go anywhere near the draft ever again.

I love the Sabres too, and do not see them as anywhere near as inept as the Bills, but, they also were playing golf and not hockey, week one of the nhl playoffs I fear the Sabres and Bills will be equally hapless this year....it will be a long cold winter in WNY this year...
